What you’ll be doing:

The Network AI and Analytics team of Verizon’s Artificial Intelligence and Data organization is seeking a Senior Manager - Data Science with a consulting background to lead our Data Analytics & Strategy team. You will be responsible for driving business growth through data-driven decision-making from identifying the right data, conducting research and analyses to gather data and deciphering large data and provide insights to the Verizon Strategy function. You will be leading, managing and mentoring the Data Analytics & Strategy team, including data analysts, data scientists, and consultants.

  • Applying critical thinking and analytical thinking to complex data problems and Decipher large data to identify trends and insights.

  • Synthesizing insights to concrete business actions and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to drive successful business outcomes.

  • Leveraging understanding of customer behaviors, strategic thinking, strong financial acumen and cross-functional aptitude to build analytical solutions to make the best-informed decisions.

  • Crafting compelling narratives from complex data and deliver engaging presentations to various audiences, including senior executives.

  • Collaborating with senior leadership to identify business needs and develop data-driven solution.

  • Mentoring team members to develop their data analytics skills.

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders to understand business needs and provide data-driven insights.

  • Working effectively in a matrix organization, influencing and partnering with cross-functional teams.

  • Driving innovation in data analytics and strategy, including identifying new tools, technologies, and methodologies to drive business growth.

  • Staying up-to-date with market research and trends.

What we’re looking for:

You’ll need to have

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in management consulting, business intelligence, or related field

  • Strong understanding of data analytics and visualization tools (Eg Alteryx,Tableau,Power BI) and data technologies (e.g., SQL, Python).

  • Excellent SQL knowledge and critical thinking skills.

  • Experience with synthesizing data from multiple sources and translating findings into actionable customer insights and recommendations.

  • Experience with leveraging third party data, trends and learnings to provide context for business scenarios

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Experience working in a matrix organization, with a proven ability to influence and partner with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong people skills, with experience mentoring team members and collaborating with stakeholders.

  • Consulting background, with experience developing and implementing business strategies.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives from data.

  • Proven track record of driving innovation in data analytics and strategy.

  • Ability to learn attitude, with a desire to continuously improve and stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master's degree in a Business Analytics or related field.

  • Certification in data analytics (e.g., Certified Data Analyst)

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Lookr) and data technologies (e.g., BQ, Python)

  • Familiarity with agile project management methodologies

  • Experience with market research and trends

  • Experience with innovation methodologies (e.g., design thinking, lean startup)

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
