What you’ll be doing...
This position is responsible for driving future ready architecture and technology design for Verizon’s Cryptographic, and Public Key Infrastructure platforms and products. This role includes design and architecting new products and incremental features, products and services, to meet the ever changing and dynamic cryptographic compliance and technology landscape. In addition, the key sustained objective of this role is to design and integrate systems and solutions around crypto inventory, crypto-agility and Post Quantum cryptography readiness, providing expertise on technical architecture and delivery of solutions that meet the overall goals of cryptographic agility, and PQC ready, state of Verizon’s product, platform and network assets.
This role will work in close collaboration with the various organisations across Verizon business units, to delivery core Agility and PQC readiness. Will look for opportunities to develop products and solutions to meet internal and customer needs in the Cryptography space. The Cryptographic Architect will also participate in industry standards and leadership organisations, e.g. GSMA and NIST, to drive standards and guidelines with a focus on Verizon operational and business needs. Writing white papers, contributing to open-source and publishing technical papers to advance the state-of-the-art for Cryptographic Agility and Quantum readiness.
As a senior Cryptography Architect, you will be responsible for:
Working with our Development team, provide technical and feature design for Verizon PKI Platform, used in internal PKI services, to meet business needs.
Lead solution definition and design with Verizon, partners, and vendors around cryptography.
Providing Cryptographic subject matter expertise in support of internal integrations.
Solution Architecture design for systems and tools that support Cryptographic inventory and Agility programs.
Cryptographic Analysis of Assets and support the development of Cryptographic Risk Framework.
Oversee Tools, Strategy, and Crypto Vendor Assessments, for Crypto Technology Organisation.
Collaborate across organisations with technical teams to ensure consistent direction around Post Quantum Readiness planning and implementations.
Lead the development of training and information programs in support of core initiatives.
Present to cross domain groups, and senior management on progress and plans around strategic programs.
Drive input into Industry standards, participating in Industry Standards groups. (NIST NCCoE & GSMA)
Produce artefacts that contribute to Verizon's intellectual property portfolio or external technology communities.
Contribute to industry papers, publications and provide thought leadership around cryptographic strategies.
Attend conferences and public talks as needed to represent Verizon in areas around cryptographic Technology and thought leadership.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Experience in Cyber Security technology, product development & architectural design
Expertise in the area of public key infrastructure (PKI) and strong understanding of crypto related standards.
Experience with large-scale public on premise solution development, delivery and multi-tenant operations.
Experience in operations of large-scale solutions involving sensitive enterprise data
Bachelor's degree required and Master’s Degree preferred in Cryptography, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar discipline.
Security Certification, CISSP, or other industry recognised security credential preferred.
Bachelor /Master’s Degree preferred in Cryptography, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar discipline; or equivalent experience.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Demonstrated strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and organize data and develop recommendations
Deep technical expertise and architectural, and software engineering guidance to the overall team.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data.
