What you’ll be doing...

Verizon operates in multiple segments across wireless and wireline connectivity. The Program / Project Manager of Consumer Strategy will work across multiple teams to manage the Strategy & Wholesale Portfolio, along with supporting multiple efforts in business operations. In this role, you will be designing and implementing priorities set by program management frameworks, building & maintaining relationships with cross functional teams, and delivering insights and trends to track progress and enable agile decision making. You will be a key member of the Verizon Consumer Group Strategy & Wholesale team that supports & drives multiple levels of the organization.

This role is dynamic, fast-paced, and covers a broad range of project scope. The ideal candidate will be able to self-govern and be comfortable taking ownership of initiatives that directly impact the growth trajectory of the Strategy portfolio. You will act as a key partner and advisor to leadership providing thought leadership, recommendations, and driving action-oriented solutions with objective, clear, impactful analysis.

The VCG Strategy team works together, while organized into a few broad topic areas. All members speak the language of strategy; each team also has depth in one or more.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving the project portfolio in accordance to VCG Priorities & Strategy and goals,

  • Partnering with cross channel functional groups to define & execute on deliverables correlating to business priorities, identifying risks, providing status updates, and final product

  • Identifying, prioritizing, structuring and leading multiple projects or major project work streams to deliver on wireless marketing plans.

  • Supporting senior leadership in crafting analyses, actions, and messaging for key strategic topics

  • Serving as a trusted advisor to Sr. Leadership, overseeing and prioritizing portfolio activities & engagements in partnership Strategy & Wholesale leadership team

  • Developing annual strategy governance calendar

  • Defining and supporting the strategic planning process and other key operational activities

  • Leveraging data analysis to support arguments and recommendations

  • Leading projects independently including research, analysis, and recommendations

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives and recommendations forward

  • Supporting the cadence and preparation of executive material for Strategy Meetings, Group Reviews, Board of Directors meetings, internal webcasts and external events

  • Leading signature organizational initiatives as well as work and collaborate with broader teams.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience

  • Two or more years of project management experience

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)

  • Strong consulting and/or experience with corporate/BU strategy

  • Experience managing multiple projects across a large enterprise

  • Experience working in a large, dynamic, complex organization, where developing strong interpersonal relationships and leading through influence are keys to success

  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills with ability to visualize strategic recommendations (e.g., storyboarding, executive proposal creation, presentation of said proposals).

  • Ability to manage a changing environment with many stakeholders

  • Strong sense of curiosity and desire to build relationships across a large and diverse organization

  • Intellectual and analytical curiosity – initiative to dig into the ‘why’ of various data and research

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels with outstanding presentation, facilitation, and active listening skills

  • Strong executive-level communication skills in a rapid-paced environment

  • Strong experience in stakeholder management

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including PowerPoint and Excel along with Google Suite

  • Knowledge of handling extremely confidential information appropriately

  • Ability to travel as needed for business-critical meetings

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
