What you’ll be doing...

This position will establish, maintain and enforce security regulations and procedures for the organization. May deal with the security of Verizon’s property, personnel, or information. Applies knowledge of federal security regulations to company operations, including preparing manuals, outlining regulations, and/or records management. Monitors or audits the organization to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures. Investigates security issues.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in facility security and well being of employees, as well as protecting Verizon’s physical and intellectual assets.

  • Serving as key contact and advisor to senior management and executives within the area of jurisdiction.

  • Interacting and leading contracted security team with day-to-day activities and special events.

  • Enforcing security policies and procedures across all sites under jurisdiction and conduct periodical reviews.

  • Providing assistance in matters associated with internal or external generated security issues through identification of causative factors, appropriate course(s) of action, foreseeing future issues and innovating means of rendering complex and highly sensitive situations manageable.

  • Assisting in developing and directing resources for location-wide risk assessments, incident reporting, investigation, physical security, intelligence, guard force operations, access control, intellectual property management, electronic counter measures, executive protection, etc.

  • Assisting in determining vulnerabilities that would allow threats to become successful and implement continuous improvement programs to avoid risk.

  • Providing operational, tactical analysis and planning for emergency situations at location(s), including crisis planning/response, hazard mitigation and business continuity.

  • Communicating and directing effective prevention strategies ensuring appropriate controls ae in place.

  • Conducting or coordinating investigation of Code of Conduct violations and/or crimes committed against Verizon or its employees. These may include: misappropriation, theft, industrial espionage, threats, due diligence, computer crimes, competitive intelligence, accidents, claims, conflict of interest, assault, harassment, litigation support, etc.

  • Providing accurate and timely consultation and advice to users regarding security matters.

  • Assisting in identifying and recommending viable external resources that enable the organization to meet objectives, including law enforcement personnel, consultants, etc.

  • Assisting in conducting audits to ensure compliance with applicable security standards.

  • Liaising with internal customer organizations ensuring that security needs are implemented into their structure and that security function is projected as a value-add.

  • Developing and maintaining excellent relationship with peers in the industry, Law enforcement agencies, Government agencies and Emergency services at local level.

  • Ensuring all electronic security systems are installed, tested and operated in accordance with applicable standard policies.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience within the physical security and investigative discipline.

  • Ability to pass federal background screening.

  • 24x7 availability.

  • Ability to adhere to in office schedule in Basking Ridge, NJ with occasional site visits to Morristown, NJ.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • In-depth knowledge of CCTV systems, intrusion detection systems and access control systems.

  • Knowledge of IT network infrastructure; basic hardware and network functionality.

  • Understanding of physical security needs of aviation facilities and corporate offices.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Proven investigative skills.

  • Maintain professional, pleasant demeanor in stressful situations, and handle conflict well.

  • The ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, pay close attention to detail, be well organized, and work successfully in a fast-paced environment.

  • Continually works to solve problems and improve processes.

  • Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google)

  • The ability to work with all levels of management.

  • Working knowledge of the corporate structure and the Code of Business Conduct.

  • Proficient customer service/problem resolution skills.

  • Prior military or law enforcement experience

  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification
