What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be leading the sourcing process for an IT Category within the IT Sourcing Department , where we spend more than five hundred million dollars per year. While guiding your internal clients through the acquisition process, you’ll be identifying potential suppliers, drafting requirements and agreements, analyzing qualifications, negotiating deals, identify savings opportunities and monitoring supplier performance. Our purchasing power combined with your skills and expertise will help us maintain our market-leading position. Come play a meaningful role in driving continuous cost savings and revenue generation.

  • Negotiating commercial terms for new agreements and renewals (Master License agreements, Cloud agreements, SOWs , Order Forms etc.)

  • Guiding internal business partners through the supplier selection process.

  • Working cross-functionally to document requirements, build RFPs, conduct negotiations for renewal or new agreement and identify savings opportunities.

  • Handling the sourcing process, ensuring that it aligns with our policies.

  • Lead various cross functional teams to develop Verizon's requirements and reach consensus on commercial approach.

  • Work closely with Legal counsel, Contract Manager, Tax and other policy subject matter expert to establish new or renewal of agreements with Suppliers.

  • Plan and propose sourcing strategies that best support the business.

  • Validating that suppliers are upholding contract terms and conditions.

  • Present and update key deal executive memo to Leadership team for new contracts and renewals.

  • Create and update Category Strategy.

  • Performing market analyses to find potential new suppliers.

You have no problem prioritizing multiple simultaneous projects and you’re no stranger to tight timelines. Balancing the intersection of cost, efficiency, and quality, you expertly negotiate the best outcomes for all parties.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.

  • Supply Chain Sourcing experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Business degree in Supply Chain of Business Administration.

  • Experience in sourcing within the IT category.

  • Program management, , request-for-proposal, and vendor selection experience.

  • Strong Negotiation skills & cost management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication & problem solving skills

  • Supply chain certification, such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) from the Institute of Supply Chain Management (ISM).

  • Project management certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.

  • Lean Six Sigma certification.

Additional Job Description:

  • Performs as a sourcing expert actively manages multiple highly visible, time-sensitive activities.

  • Effectively interface with all levels of management, and efficiently ensure the sourcing process is completed.

  • Drives end-to-end sourcing strategy, performance effectiveness/efficiency and value/revenue generation.

  • Analyze high-volume purchases and develop long-term partnerships with select group of suppliers capable of providing quality products and services at low cost.

  • Develop, manage, and drive key sourcing relationships critical to the business and impacting the entire customer base.

  • Execute supplier relationship management activities for key assigned suppliers within the assigned categories, with oversight regarding supplier relationship management.

  • Monitor internal customers and supply markets for changes that may impact sourcing strategies.

  • Negotiate and complete key strategic deals and drive aspects of complex strategic sourcing processes.

  • Partner with business partners, contracts with management and legal teams, serve as a trusted advisor to developing strategy, objectives, and plans.

  • Perform analyses of financial and business data related to sourcing operations and capability assessments.

  • Plan and propose strategies that best support the business, create efficiencies, and provide outstanding performance. Areas of focus include, securing top supplier talent, maximizing ROI, and attaining KPIs through supplier relationship management.

  • Work with global cross-functional teams through the supplier selection process for the approval of selected suppliers by stakeholders.
