What you'll be doing…
You will partner with other internal teams to provide business intelligence through identifying the right data, conducting research and analyses, and providing insights to make recommendations and guide decision making in the Verizon Strategy Sourcing function. Plus, you’ll come up with the best ways to share and enhance the data in dashboards, presentations, and written reports to suit the need and the audience.
Collaborating with your product group to understand business needs and staying up to date on all the product initiatives and plans.
Managing material group creation and Taxonomy alignment
Analyzing data and clearly communicating findings to partners.
Providing the metrics required to support key business goals.
Creating and supporting new business intelligence services to address emerging needs.
What we're looking for…
You will have a deep understanding of the Source to Pay process (S2P) and category management, while also having a gift for taking unstructured data, organizing it, finding the valuable takeaways, and making it understood by others. You enjoy immersing yourself in a subject and becoming the go-to specialist. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where new challenges come up every day but you are organized so no balls are dropped. You view problems as puzzles you’d like to solve. You are comfortable working on your own but you also enjoy collaborating. You are a good listener and able to translate a business question into just the right analysis to find the answer.
You'll need to have:
Degree or relevant work experience.
Experience conducting research and or analyses.
Managed projects for multiple stakeholders.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
knowledge of Sourcing/contract negotiations
Knowledge of UNSPSC and Various industries.
Knowledge of accounting, e.g. GL, MJE, debit/credit, accrual, etc.
Basic understanding of financial statements, and annual report for public companies
Knowledge of SAP, Ariba (B&I, Guided Buying, external catalogs)
Proficiency in Qlik, customized reporting and dashboard design
Some knowledge of various programming languages, e.g. javascript, html, Python, R
Expert proficiency of Microsoft Office products, i.e. Powerpoint, Excel, Word, etc.
