What you’ll be doing...
Global Strategic Sourcing, is looking for a lead for Strategy & Operations to support the VP of Global Sourcing. This is a high impact, highly visible, multi-business, cross-functional position within the Verizon Global Services organization.
The role will require extensive partnering across the Global Sourcing team. The position is a strategic role and a catalyst for driving continuous improvement while leading innovation across the organization. Responsibilities include business case delivery, designing operational strategies, defining plans and sourcing execution tracking responsibilities needed by the VP of Global Sourcing and their leadership team.
What we’re looking for...
Responsibilities:
Continuously evaluating and planning a path for attainment of business objectives, making business decisions that are based on an analysis of objective facts, aided by the use of reporting and analytics.
Making recommendations to support the improvement of key performance indicators to include; goals, priorities, action planning, implementation, KPI execution, partner performance, training, career development programs, leadership opportunities, huddles, workshops, and coaching skills.
Lead a team of professionals to support Strategic Sourcing in developing business cases to deliver innovative ways of working and achieving outsized value
Developing upward communication programs.
Developing and providing input into Strategy Review decks and all executive-level overviews that need to be completed.
Demonstrating critical thinking skills and remaining curious to evolve knowledge of the business, industry, and competitive trends, and technology to put results and insights in a proper context.
Building strong collaborations with our business partners to prioritize and align on work efforts and deliverables.
Communicating with stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Developing executive-level presentations and other key communications for the team.
Mentoring and leading team members on analysis, visualization, and presentation skills.
Leading efforts involving change management (scope adjustment, date adjustment, reprioritization, etc.).
Coordinating cross-team resourcing activities.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sourcing/Procurement or related field or relevant work experience.
Relevant work experience in strategy development and execution
Experience investigating and solving complex problems with innovative solutions.
Experience managing and motivate a team.
Ability to identify areas of opportunity, and propose innovative business models.
Proven ability to drive a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and and influencing across all areas of an organization.
Proficiency in building executive-level presentations in PowerPoint and Google Slides.
Experience developing and delivering key communications to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
Visualization/storyboarding experience to present insights and recommendations in concise, intuitive, narratives.
Demonstrated effective communication skills with the ability to influence and set expectations across various functional teams; and across all levels within the organization.
* Proven ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver multiple complex projects against key deliverables and timelines.

Strategic thinker who is comfortable working both independently and in a team setting.
Balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
PMP certification or related certifications.
Problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to work well within a team environment and under pressure of very stringent deadlines.
