What you’ll be doing...

The Associate Director of Web Frontend Development and Experience Testing will lead multiple, 24x7 global teams focused on crafting and maintaining the “Learn” layer or Upper Funnel of Verizon’s high traffic Consumer website and app. This includes the Verizon Home Page, a wide variety of Landing Pages, all of the content focused on Devices, Accessories, Promotions, and much more. In addition, this position oversees the implementation of various types of dynamic content spanning standard personalization as well as multi-variate testing.

Beyond daily operations, this role will also play a critical part in defining and implementing large scale enterprise content management platform initiatives, particularly in the area of dynamic content and experiences, with a key focus on maximizing our ability to scale content output nonlinearly.

Responsibilities include:

  • Setting strategic vision for FED and Target teams in terms of the platforms, development tools and process optimization.

  • Providing oversight of work product to ensure timely and quality delivery of content changes to various digital platforms.

  • Leading critical project and resource planning for peak marketing initiatives throughout the year.

  • Monitoring and identifying work opportunities and impacts from sister organizations that may impact the FED and Target teams.

  • Working to establish and optimize processes and tools for distributing work and managing status across high functioning on-shore and off-shore teams.

  • Coordinating with onshore and offshore implementation, release management, and testing resources to execute production content releases.

  • Acting as a point of escalation to troubleshoot, prioritize, and resolve content implementation and release issues.

  • Contributing directly to technical requirements, system architecture, workflow requirements, system integration, and overall solution design for the CMS tools under your purview.

  • Serving as a cheerleader and evangelist for your teams and their work, leveraging every opportunity to build and fortify equity within the broader organization.

  • Identifying and helping implement process and tool enhancements to increase productivity, quality, change tolerance, and communication with globally dispersed team members and stakeholders.

What we’re looking for...

You possess a strong blend of tactical, strategic, people management skills, and the ability to operate on multiple levels and horizons. You will need a fierce commitment to quality and productivity, and the ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders to manage a high volume, high velocity, high complexity environment. You will need the ability to speak up and lean in hard, but with as much empathy and compassion as possible.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience in front end development fundamentals (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, common frameworks, etc.).

  • Experience working with enterprise-scale Ecommerce and content management systems.

  • Experience managing personalized content and the implementation of multivariate testing.

  • Experience in SDLC and content deployment project management fundamentals.

  • Experience with enterprise ticket and workflow management tools (e.g. JIRA).

  • Experience in business process analysis and optimization.

Even better if you have:

  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders of varying seniority.

  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and multiple/simultaneous, highly complex, cross-functional projects/initiatives.

  • Highly responsive, reliable and proactive.

  • Ability to work constructively and positively within a team environment even under pressure or stringent deadlines.

  • Strong people leadership, development, and performance management skills.

  • Proficiency in either the G-Suite or Microsoft Office document-related applications (e.g. PowerPoint/Slides, Excel/Sheets, etc.).

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
