What you’ll be doing...

The Network Supply Chain team is seeking an Associate Director responsible for the operational management, strategic roadmap, providing technical guidance and end to end oversight and vendor management of Verizon’s Radio Access Network (RAN) Assembly, Wire and Test (AWAT) and Pre-stage Programs. RAN AWAT is a strategic initiative that drives build standardization, capital cost avoidance, and enhanced build quality through a centralized process. Far Edge Pre-Stage is an innovative program that ensures hardware being shipped to the field is being loaded with the latest BiOS, Firmware, and Operating Systems to drive reduced install time in the field as well as improved installation success rates.

This position will be responsible for the management of a team of supply chain and network professionals, who will support the operation and expansion of these programs happening within Verizon’s RDCs. The role will require building and fostering relationships with multiple organizations within Verizon including the RAN Engineering Submarkets, Central Engineering, Engineering Operations & Support, Network Supply Chain Planning, Network Warehousing, as well as multiple 3rd party partners and material suppliers. The preference for this role is to be based out of our Haslet, Texas Regional Distribution Center (RDC) but consideration will be made for any Global Supply Chain Hub Location.

  • Leading a team of professionals, planning and reviewing their work, plus removing barriers and solving problems to help them be productive.

  • Creating an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture that focuses on developing the best customer experience.

  • Setting clear team goals for both short term and long term initiatives.

  • Identifying opportunities for efficiencies in working capital and expense savings.

  • Identifying and driving business transformation initiatives for the team and continuing to look for innovative solutions to drive cost out of the business.

  • Managing and mentoring a team of engineers, technicians and supply chain professionals and growing them both personally and professionally.

  • Overseeing and coordinating multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met, resources are allocated effectively, and project goals align with overall company and leadership objectives.

  • Continuously reviewing and improving processes related to the assembly, testing, and software loading of hardware to enhance efficiency, reduced downtime, and minimize errors.

  • Analyzing industry trends and best practices to determine value and drive change standardization where appropriate to gain efficiencies.

  • Providing guidance on technical issues related to the build and staging processes including troubleshooting and problem-solving of complex process related issues.

  • Collaborating and driving partnerships with multiple organizations within Verizon including the RAN Engineering Submarkets, Central Engineering, Engineering Operations & Support, Network Supply Chain Planning, Network Warehousing, as well as multiple 3rd party partners and material suppliers to drive overall success of the program.

  • Driving end to end quality throughout the AWAT and Far Edge Process, maintaining customer satisfaction and driving.

  • Soliciting feedback from the Verizon Network teams to drive continuous improvement while educating them of benefits of Same Unit Repair and ensuring they have the proper tools available to support our customers.

  • Ensuring customer centric culture and work to root cause and eliminate defects in the process.

  • Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with company safety standards in all required regulations.

  • Tracking and reporting on Key Performance Indicators related to program performance, project timelines and quality.

  • Identifying and implementing improved reporting mechanisms removing manual effort and automating end to end reporting processes.

What we’re looking for…

You’ll need to have:

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience managing a team.

  • Experience in technical operations, vendor or account management roles.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A Masters degree.

  • Strong team leadership skills.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Self-motivated /self-starter with ability to work independently.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with experience in influencing others.

  • Lean Six Sigma Experience.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
