What you’ll be doing

In this senior leadership role, you will report to and support the Chief Operations Officer (Executive), taking the lead in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and driving commercial growth across both new and existing Builder Customers. You will be responsible for leading a high-performing team, identifying, and maximising commercial opportunities that contribute to the success of the NHBC Group Business Plan (GBP).

Your work will play a crucial role in delivering NHBC’s core mission, enhancing the quality of new home construction and ensuring the protection of homeowners.

  • Develop and maintain close working relationships to C-Suite level, plus other stakeholders to achieve a partnership approach with shared values, on an equitable commercial standing, with the intention of being a trusted advisor and agent of change for next generation house building.
  • The role will occasionally require engagement with MP’s and present opportunities to promote NHBC’s work in the new home building sector at governmental level.
  • Undertake networking at industry events with the goal of developing relationships and new business to NHBC.
  • Work with the Business Development and Underwriting Teams to set and drive business strategy to identify and pursue market growth areas where NHBC’s products and services can be levered into profit producing opportunities, both in the traditional new homes and alternative residential sectors (Housing Association, Build to Rent, Later Living, Local Authorities)

What we’re looking for

  • The successful candidate will require the ability to operate with agility, flexibility, and adaptability in relation to customer requirements, and have the ability to present to groups of professionals from around the industry, with occasional involvement in industry panel discussions.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of the UK new home building market, as to construction and house building standards.
  • An excellent communicator with proven negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to understand technical-based reports, problems and papers.
  • Ability in organising and hosting round-table lunches and dinners with company directors.
