Job Description
Position Overview: The Employee Relations Manager serves as the primary point of contact for all Employee Relations (ER) matters within the company. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with employment laws across the UK, Europe, and is responsible for providing expert advice and support on complex ER cases.
The Employee Relations Manager also partners with the leadership teams to translate our People and Culture strategy into department people plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- ER Expertise and Advisory:
- Act as the company’s expert on employment law matters in the UK, Europe, and Mexico.
- Provide comprehensive ER advice on complex cases, including long-term sickness and disciplinary issues.
- Participate in investigations, meetings, and documentation processes as required.
- Severance and Legal Compliance:
- Review and approve business cases for severance to ensure compliance with contractual, statutory, and legal obligations, minimizing business risk.
- Partner with internal and external legal counsel to prepare for and attend mediations, arbitrations, and other court proceedings as necessary.
- Policy Development and Implementation:
- Create and update policies related to ER, wellbeing, and diversity.
- Assist leaders in understanding and implementing these policies effectively.
- Risk Management and Compliance:
- Collaborate with leaders to mitigate business risks, including right-to-work checks, health and safety, and contractual obligations.
- Ensure leaders are educated on relevant country regulations and maintain accurate, secure records.
- Conduct regular file and risk audits, following up with necessary actions to ensure compliance.
- Metrics and Reporting:
- Measure key metrics and compile monthly reports on risk cases, disciplinary actions, and compliance status.
- External Relations:
- Maintain a list of external legal contacts and collaborate with them as needed.
- People Partner:
- Work with leaders to develop local people and culture plans aligned with global strategy.
- Owner of people dashboards and talent plans for support teams in all countries
- Supporting leaders with performance management
- Manage the talent risk process originating from the 9 box grid and report on this quarterly

- Proven experience in Employee Relations and employment law across multiple regions.
- Strong understanding of legal compliance and risk management.
- Excellent communication and advisory skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
