How You’ll Make An Impact

We’re excited to welcome an experienced UX Researcher to our User Experience team, part of Boomi’s Product & Technology organization. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in applying both qualitative and quantitative research methods across the discovery and evaluative phases of the UX process. Additionally, we value experience in building and nurturing user communities, engaging and recruiting participants, fostering meaningful relationships with users, and facilitating effective feedback channels to drive impactful insights through strong UX research operations.

We’re looking for someone who thrives on taking initiative and values constructive feedback. Under the guidance of the UX Senior Management team, you’ll collaborate closely with UX Design peers—at times leading and at times supporting the research activities they undertake. As part of our fluid and collaborative team, you’ll also partner with Engineers, Product Content creators, Product Managers, and Product Owners. Additionally, you’ll play a key role in building strong relationships with the users of our platform, including both internal teams and external customers.

We are headquartered in Conshohocken, PA, and have teammates across the US, UK, Europe, and India. Occasional travel will be required (<10%) to meet up with your teammates and customer-facing activities.

What You’ll Do

  • Advocate for UX Research Excellence: Promote best practices, frameworks, and processes that elevate the impact of UX Research across the organization.
  • Build and Nurture User Communities: Develop and execute a strategy to engage customer and internal user communities, focusing on participant recruitment, fostering relationships, and creating feedback channels that accelerate time to insight.
  • Leverage Mixed Methods Expertise: Apply a range of qualitative and quantitative methods—knowing when and how to use each effectively—to uncover user needs and inform product strategy.
  • Communicate Complex Concepts: Quickly learn complex technological ideas and translate them into plain language for diverse audiences.
  • Drive Discovery and Evaluation: Identify opportunities for product improvement, validate them through research, and share actionable insights to shape product development.
  • Lead Research Activities: Plan, execute, and analyze usability studies, interviews, and other research initiatives to inform product decisions.
  • Present Research Findings: Deliver clear, impactful presentations of research outcomes to stakeholders, including Product Managers and the Executive Leadership team.
  • Contribute to User Personas and Use Cases: Develop and refine user personas and scenarios based on research to guide product design and development.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with teams across UX, Engineering, Product, and Program Management to ensure research informs key decisions and aligns with organizational goals.
  • Support Product Strategy: Apply conceptual and pragmatic thinking to contribute to Boomi’s product strategy and ensure it remains a leader in the industry.

The Experience You Bring

  • 5+ years of UX Research experience with a growth mindset, curiosity, empathy, and a clearly-articulated research philosophy
  • Experience with online-community based recruiting, organizing, and research
  • Ability to operate nimbly as a research consultant to multiple product teams, and comfortable conducting research activities outside of a lab across a broad set of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • A commitment to excellence over perfection — details matter, but so does being nimble
  • Experience facilitating workshops and remote activities, and a willingness to recruit internal participants
  • The desire to collaborate, with the ability to operate with minimal oversight
  • The ability to provide and accept constructive criticism in a timely and direct manner
  • Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 guidelines, and a value for designing inclusively
  • Familiarity with collaborative and rapid research tools (e.g., Miro, UserTesting)
  • Ability and interest in occasional travel spanning 2-5 days (<10% travel)
