About the team

We’re looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join the Product Content team. This team is a mighty group of Technical Writers and UX Writers who strive to deliver accurate, concise, and well-written technical documentation, online help, and in-app text that helps our users perform their tasks. You’ll thrive here if you’re curious, open-minded, flexible, passionate about user experience, love to take ownership, and deeply value collaboration.

Our ideal candidate enjoys working in the technical enterprise software (cloud) space and is passionate about writing for developers, has experience documenting complex software products, APIs, SDKs, and is eager to work on next-gen products to innovate and solve challenging problems. We want someone who shares a knack for simplifying complexity so that information is presented to users in clear, consumable, and actionable ways.

Essential requirements

• 5+ years of proven experience writing developer documentation for complex enterprise software products in an agile environment. You have documented APIs, SDKs, developer & user guides, reference docs, code samples, README files, release notes, and tutorials.

• Knowledge of Open API standards and best practices, HTML, CSS, JS to work with code snippets.

• Experience working with multiple fast-paced software agile Engineering teams, using Jira boards, tracking issues, going through epics, understanding developer tasks, and communicating in plain language.

• Outstanding English language skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to research technical concepts, analyze specifications, and communicate them clearly and precisely in plain language

• You have experience with the following:

  • Docs-as-code/CI-CD approach for documentation

  • Markdown for authoring

  • Bitbucket or Github

Here's what you'll do at Boomi

• Write and maintain developer documentation for a highly technical platform. Grasp complex concepts and translate them into concise technical documentation, developer guides, API & CLI references, release notes, tutorials, and other learning resources.

• Work closely with scrum teams to understand requirements, complex concepts, gather information, and translate technical information into user-friendly content.

• Work in a fast-paced, multi-team agile environment with a willingness to manage competing priorities and use agile methods to keep in sync with priorities & roadmap.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to create an excellent developer experience.

• Gather feedback from the developer community to iterate on content.

• Contribute to tools, workflows, and processes that make documentation more efficient, collaborative, and scalable.
