We are looking for an Engineering Team Lead to manage our Core R&D team. This position is part of Boomi following its recent acquisition of Rivery, a cloud-based DataOps platform. While now under Boomi, the role remains within Rivery’s team, working closely with our experts in data integration and automation. You can read more about the acquisition here.

Please also note that this is a hybrid office/remote role where you will work at least 3 days per week from our Ramat Gan, Israel office; and 2 days from home.

In this role you will

  • Lead a team of engineers who are responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. You will take responsibility for the development of sensitive parts.
  • Provide expert-level technical leadership and mentoring to the team, host weeklies, dailies, reviews, etc., as part of your management routines.
  • Understand the organization's data needs and provide solutions to other data stakeholders, such as data analysts, engineers, and product managers.
  • Produce state-of-the-art data engineering development methodologies, including code reviews, monitoring, tests (unit, component), infra as code, ci/cd, and more.
  • Continuously maintain a healthy and up-to-date data tech stack, guaranteeing scalability and robustness.
  • Collaborate with Analysts and Business Stakeholders on data requirements and functional specifications.
  • Design client-side and server-side architecture.
  • Write effective APIs.

Required skills

  • 6+ years of proven hands-on experience in Backend development.
  • 2+ years of experience as a team leader in a SaaS company.
  • High proficiency in Python.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently and leading projects from end to end.
  • Experienced with agile methodologies.
  • BA/BSc in a related field (such as CS, engineering, information systems) or equivalent.

Advanced knowledge

  • Experience working with cloud DBs (such as Snowflake or Redshift).
  • Proven experience with data warehousing, modeling paradigms and architectures, proficient in DWH methodologies and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with developing end-to-end ETL/ELT processes.
