*This role has a hybrid work environment based out of our new office in downtown Vancouver, B.C.

The Chief of Staff to the Chief People Officer (CHRO) will serve as a strategic partner and operational leader, ensuring the smooth execution of Boomi’s HR priorities. Acting as a catalyst for efficiency and alignment, this role will drive key people initiatives, optimize decision-making, and enhance collaboration across HR functions and the broader business.

As a trusted advisor to the CHRO and HR leadership, the Chief of Staff will play a critical role in shaping the future of Boomi’s people strategy, culture, and global workforce initiatives.


What You’ll Do:
Strategic Leadership & Execution

  • Partner with the CHRO and HR leadership to define and execute HR’s strategic roadmap, ensuring alignment with Boomi’s business objectives
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing data-driven insights, preparing reports, and assisting with key decision-making
  • Monitor HR’s key performance metrics and drive accountability for critical deliverables

Budgeting & Financial Planning

  • Manage HR’s budgeting process in collaboration with FP&A leadership, ensuring financial resources are allocated effectively to support HR programs and initiatives
  • Partner with FP&A teams to manage HR’s budget forecasts, workforce planning, and operational expenses, ensuring alignment with Boomi’s financial objectives
  • Track the ROI on key people initiatives, and make strategic recommendations for resource optimization

Operational Excellence & Program Management

  • Drive cross-functional HR initiatives, ensuring they are executed on time, within scope, and delivering measurable impact
  • Manage HR leadership meetings, including agenda setting, action tracking, and follow-ups to ensure seamless execution
  • Continuously optimize HR processes, structures, and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a key liaison between the CHRO and HR leadership, fostering transparency, alignment, and collaboration
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and materials for Board meetings, company-wide communications, and leadership discussions
  • Represent the CHRO in meetings when necessary, ensuring HR strategies are communicated effectively to stakeholders
  • Act as the primary point of contact for emergency communication planning, ensuring HR is prepared to respond to workforce-related crises, urgent business needs, or rapid organizational changes.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Communications teams to implement effective crisis response protocols and workforce communications strategies

Global People & Culture Initiatives

  • Lead HR initiatives with a global mindset, ensuring sensitivity to regional workforce dynamics, compliance, and cultural differences
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) and People Partners to drive best-in-class HR programs across Boomi’s global locations
  • Implement culturally inclusive policies and programs that support employee engagement, retention, and talent mobility
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance employee experience, cultivate a high-performance culture, and foster an inclusive global workforce


The Experience You Bring:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Chief of Staff is a requirement with a total of 10+ years in business operations, consulting, or Chief of Staff roles, with strong exposure to HR functions
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to connect the dots between HR strategy, financial planning, and business priorities while maintaining a people-first mindset
  • Budget & Financial Acumen: Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and partnering with FP&A to manage HR financials
  • Execution Excellence: Proven track record of turning strategy into action and driving meaningful outcomes
  • Data-Driven: Strong analytical and advanced Excel modeling skills, with the ability to leverage HR and financial data for impactful insights and decision-making
  • Communication & Influence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and craft engaging employee communications
  • Global & Cultural Sensitivity: Experience working with international teams across multiple countries and time zones, ability to demonstrate cultural curiosity, fluidity, and sensitivity
  • Project & Crisis Management: Experience leading complex projects, handling sensitive workforce issues, and ensuring HR is prepared and leading through critical, time-sensitive, and often quickly changing situations
  • Adaptability: Thrives in an evolving, high-growth environment, managing ambiguity and shifting priorities with ease

Bonus points if you have:

  • A Master’s Degree or MBA, especially with a focus on business strategy, HR Management, or organizational development
  • Experience as a Chief of Staff to a Chief People Officer
  • Expertise in HR budgeting and financial planning tools
  • Experience with Workday reporting
  • Experience working in high-growth SaaS or technology company

Compensation
Boomi is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Base compensation for this position ranges from 190,000-225,000 CAD annually + applicable bonus. Final compensation will be determined by various factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
