Accountabilities:

The job holder is for developing aircraft retrofit design and making the design complying with airworthiness regulations. And provides technical solutions for in-service aircraft and on-site support if necessary.

Operational activities:

• Performs the technical analysis of the modification requirements coming from customer for modification solution authoring;

• According to applicable airworthiness regulations, environmental protection and operation requirements, conduct type development and type modification design, generate type design data, provide technical solutions for in-service aircraft;

• Prepares elements required for STC/MDA authoring phase, including aircraft drawings and certification dossier;

• Conduct independent airworthiness compliance checks on all conformity verification data;

• Communicate and explain technical solutions with the authority to ensure the compliance of the solutions;

• On-site technical support in the process of modification to ensure the feasibility of the plan and improve it ​if necessary;

• Confirm the design conformity by signing the conformity document;

• Technical approval of continued airworthiness documents and flight manual supplements;

• Technical approval of the compliance documents provided by supplier;

• Follows up project plan and interfaces with other department;

• Confirm the decision of modification design;

• Eyewitness check if necessary;

• Handle manufacturing deviation and concession acceptance as required;

• Other Tasks assigned by Head of Technical Solution & Support.

Operational Outputs

• STC/MDA design solution;

• Compliance verification of the STC/MDA design solution;

• STC/MDA configuration analysis and technical dossier;

• Technical query answer to the customer regarding the design solution implementation；

Qualifications

• Education: College degree or above, majored in engineering

• Experience:

—At least 3 years in aircraft modification engineering design, with comprehensive airworthiness experience and knowledge related to their field of expertise

—Experience from aircraft OEM or design organization with relevant practice on ATA25 is desired;

—Have successful experience in working with authority staff in aviation product design conformance verification activities, and have Designated Engineering Representative(DER) working experience is preferred

• Basic Skills:

—Knowledge of airworthiness regulations, environmental protection and operation requirements

—Knowledge of aeronautical/mechanical/avionics engineering;

—Knowledge on aircraft design or system installation principles;

—Knowledge of aircraft configuration management rule;

—Proficiency in spoken and written English

• Certifications:

Civil aviation maintenance personnel license and marked English level 3 or above
