About us:
This internship opportunity sits within the Spacecraft Production Quality Assurance department, who are responsible for ensuring that company industrial processes are followed and comply with quality assurance requirements and standards.
In addition to this function, the Quality department has the objective to drive and influence the company to reduce the cost of quality and the cost of non-quality, data analytics form an important part of this function.
The Spacecraft Production Quality Assurance team is a dynamic group of people, with a common goal of driving down the cost of non-quality within the business. Whilst working on some of the most advanced space programs in the world.
What you will be doing:
In this role you would be supporting the general day to day Quality Assurance activities, including non-conformance management, Key inspection activities and driving non quality prevention. Also helping the department to develop its digital dashboards, with indicators identifying key drivers in the cost of non-quality. You will get involved in different improvement projects. In this role you will be developing the following areas:
- Your awareness and presentation of space products within an international working environment;
- Experience on Problem Solving tools and practices;
- Understanding on how a world class manufacturing organisation is run and setup;
- Developing an improvement mind-set and change management.
Requirements:
Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Working towards a degree in or equivalent in an Aerospace, Manufacturing, Engineering or related discipline;
- Proficient with Google sheets (excel or equivalent);
- Proactive & flexible approach;
- Evidence of effective teamwork;
- Focus on continuous improvement and provide initiatives/ideas for growth;
- Ability to motivate and influence;
- Good written and verbal communication.
Desirable:
- Basic knowledge in coding;
- Professional Engineering and Management / Engineering business practices;
- Other language than English.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance OR You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check).
