Your tasks and responsibilities
Support the establishment of all required project RAMS tasks at different levels (spacecraft system level, subsystem level or equipment level)
Generating and updating of safety assessments at different product maturity stages (safety phases I, II and III)
Performing safety assessments for operations, remove & repair activities
Establishing reliability, availability and maintainability analyses
Establishing FMECA, HSIA, fault tree analyses. Interfacing with equipment suppliers: Definition of RAMS requirements in contribution to specifications at equipment level
Following the relevant design development to check the compliance to the defined requirements
Support the establishment of Hazard analyses for spacecraft, equipment/instruments as well as for ground support equipment
Preparation of required documentation and presentation of work results
Required qualifications
The work task requires knowledge and skills that are usually acquired through a relevant, completed course of study with a standard period of study of up to 4 years in the area of Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalant. The overall knowledge and experience required may have been acquired in other ways.
Desired skills
Knowledge and experience in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility
Kowledge in un-manned Space Systems, in particular payload system
First experience in the field of Safety and Reliability Engineering ideally in the Space sector
Knowledge of Safety processes, regulations and guidelines (ECSS-Q-ST-40C, ARP 4761, ARP 4754A) are welcome
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and strong sense of responsibility
High level of commitment, flexibility and a strong service mentality
Language skills: Fluent in written and spoken German and English (at least B2)
Willingness to travel on business at home and abroad
