About us:
Around 80% of Airbus’ activity is sourced from an external supplier. Working with more than 12,000 suppliers worldwide that provide products and services for flying and non-flying parts, joining the Procurement team will put you at the heart of Airbus where you will operate in a truly international environment. To manage all of this the Airbus Procurement function is diverse in its activities, from supporting our sustainable aviation ambitions with ZeroE, negotiating multimillion dollar claims and contracts or managing supplier quality and delivery issues.
This internship opportunity will focus on the commercial and strategic aspects of Procurement but will also provide excellent exposure to other areas of Procurement, offering you the perfect opportunity to experience the exciting challenges and opportunities Procurement has to offer. Airbus UK design, manufacture and manage the Supply Chain for Wings, Landing Gear and Fuel Systems on all Airbus Commercial Aircraft. Wing manufacture is performed at the world class Broughton Production facility whilst design and supply chain management is based in Filton, Bristol. Components and parts are delivered from a supply chain spanning the globe. This supply chain is managed from the UK, and delivers into the Airbus Wing manufacturing plant in Broughton as well as directly into Airbus’ Final Assembly Lines located in France, Germany, USA, Canada and China.
What you will be doing:
During the internship you role will vary between a range of activities that englobe:
Developing your skills in all elements of supplier management, negotiation and contract management all whilst working with a diverse range of stakeholders from across the business, as well as Airbus suppliers;
Working throughout real projects and contribute towards;
Call for Tenders (CFTs);
Negotiating claims and contracts with suppliers or supporting analysis to devise a new product strategy for projects such as ZeroE.
Working with experienced buyers and senior management, you will be given responsibilities and objectives that will challenge you and offer experiences to grow your career and knowledge of procurement. In addition to your work there are opportunities to join a wide variety of employee networks including a dedicated Early Careers network, Generation Airbus, Pride@Airbus, Balance for Business, Breathe and embRACE to help you develop both your professional and personal skills along the way. You will also be supported by like minded apprentices, other Early Careers and members of senior management.
Requirements:
Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
Studying towards a degree in Business Management, Economics, Maths, or equivalent;
Curious and driven attitude with a desire to launch their career in Procurement, and build an understanding of the wider Airbus business;
Comfortable communicating with a wide range of people;
Collaborates well within and beyond your placement teams;
Proactive in your approach;
Good organisation and time management;
An attention to detail;
Proficient oral and written communication skills in English.
