Airbus Commercial is looking for a PDM Technology Specialist (d/f/m), in order to support the product PLM Germany.

Mission:

You are the Subject Matter Expert, here to guide and deliver cutting-edge technology solutions that elevate businesses. Acting as a trusted advisor, you bring unparalleled expertise in a specific technology, helping create innovative or modernized IT solutions tailored to today’s needs. Your deep understanding of digital and IT technologies enables you to reveal how they can uniquely drive value and growth for each business. You independently research, identify, and propose targeted solutions to meet requirements, craft impactful proofs of concept (POCs), and play a key role in shaping future IT strategies and standards.


Your location:
You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Main activities and responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the value of new technologies to build strong business cases.

  • Update company guidelines and policies to ensure best practices in technology use.

  • Shape and evolve the learning framework to support growth in the company’s core technologies.

  • Offer expert guidance on specialized topics, providing teams with actionable insights.

  • Track emerging technology trends and support teams in applying them effectively within the Airbus environment.

  • Lead the selection of the best-fit technologies for various projects.

  • Leverage knowledge of technological trends to deliver innovative solutions that strengthen the company’s competitive edge.

  • Provide recommendations on "buy vs. build" decisions to maximize resources and outcomes.

Desired skills and qualification:

  • 10+ years in Business IT projects with a background in engineering.

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), AIRBUS PDM Legacy application TAKSY

  • Skilled in:

    • Product Data Management (PDM) focus in context of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

    • Mainframe systems (PL/I, DB2, IMS) for AIRBUS legacy app maintenance

    • Databases, such as PostgreSQL, for mainframe data transformation

    • OpenShift Enterprise, Tomcat, Java EE, Jenkins

    • Cybersecurity and SAFE methodologies

  • Fast learner, eager to adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
