We created mid 2022 a brand new organization “Operations Performance & Continuous Improvement” (PCI) and therefore are searching for a

Operations Performance & Continuous Improvement (PCI) Leader (f/m/d)

at Airbus Helicopters in Donauwörth.

The mission of this new organization:

  • Boost AOS (Airbus Operating System) deployment in Operations, focusing on our “Industrial Basics”
  • Accelerate and strengthen continuous improvement and problem solving within Operations
  • Accelerate and sustain performance increase of operational flows and teams

Your location

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

As direct report to the HO Operations Performance & Continuous Improvement (PCI), your role will be to:

  • Share the PCI ambition, define priorities and strategic roadmap with operations top management of your perimeter
  • Ensure yearly PCI objectives cascading to operational teams
  • Deploy VSA (Value Stream Analysis) and Kaizen Productivity initiatives to continuously analyze and improve the efficiency of our industrial flows
  • Coach and spread Gemba On-Job-Training by managers on our industrial basics, while recognizing ops teams on progress achieved
  • Structure, motivate, develop and sustain our local PCI Network
  • Organize/perform best practices sharing and return on experience
  • Drive, support & develop managers & teams, local PCI leaders and improvers (including training plans definition and execution) on:

1- Continuous maturity increase & sustainability of our “industrial mgt basics” (e.g. : KPI Tree & Perfo Mgt, 5S, QRQC, Prod Pace Control, MCR, Gemba OJT, MPS, Line Balancing, Poly/Poly, Standard Agenda, …), using our AOS requirements & standards

2- Continuous improvement plans definition and efficient management to permanently increase SQCDP performance

3- Performance diagnosis & improvement initiatives facilitation (e.g. : Value Stream Analysis, OEE, SMED, Kaizen workforce efficiency analysis…)

Required Skills:

  • Fully autonomous Lean Manufacturing Expert (d/f/m), with production management and supply chain background in large international companies, able to perform lean diagnosis and organize lean transformation of a complete factory using lean principles & tools
  • Ability to build and drive improvement teams, and ensure the execution of defined roadmaps, anticipate risks and manage them with operational management
  • Knowledge of the financial system
  • Ability to develop teams on lean principles & tools
  • Proactivity and action orientation, courage & tenacity
  • Energy, positive attitude, ability to inspire, embark & motivate teams, interpersonal and workshop/training facilitation skills, influencing skills, tactical intelligence
  • Experience in change management
  • Open mindedness & transparency
  • Ability to adapt to situations and environment without losing the goal
  • Structured (e.g. plan and execute roadmaps), rigorous, synthetic, presentation skills
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback / coaching to executive management levels
  • Fluent English and German, French a plus
