SIM is a department of ~600 people based in Bangalore (India), Toulouse (France), Hamburg &

Bremen (Germany), Getafe (Spain), Filton (UK), Mobile (US), Beijing (China), and Kuala

Lumpur (Malaysia). Our main missions are:

● Retrofit Solutions: Deliver and Support added value Retrofit solution packages to

maintain continued aircraft airworthiness and improve Customers’ Operations &

profitability

● Maintenance Program Engineering: Deliver customer value through an array of

services (from business development to the preparation of Planned Maintenance Service

products, maintenance program optimization exercises and Parking & Storage)

● Scheduled Maintenance Services: Support the operation and maintenance of all

Airbus aircraft and all customers worldwide, from development of initial requirements to

deviation management and optimization of maintenance tasks.

● GSE Engineering: Engineering activities related to GSE & Tools (including Design,

Services, Manufacturing Engineering & Front desk) for all Airbus aircraft and all

customers worldwide

Job description

We are looking for a Lead Retrofit Solutions Engineer A350 (d/f/m) within Airbus (Commercial Aircraft) located in Bangalore. You will be part of the international team within the Cabin Retrofit Solutions .

We are searching for enthusiastic A350 colleagues who want to be part of the Upgrade services

community. You bring added value to our customers' A350 fleet. You are responsible for the definition and integration of retrofit design solutions for A350 aircraft post-delivery. Your main focus will be on the cabin modifications including associated mechanical and electrical interfaces and adaptation of related cabin systems.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

● As a Lead Retrofit Solutions Engineer you coordinate all design activities in terms of cost, time and quality

● You check and release design drawings (if necessary delegations are available), also to work towards getting specific ATA delegations

● One of your main tasks will be to prepare and to follow-up of all relevant certification

documents e.g. Full-TRS, MAS, ICS and supporting documents

● You will be in charge of analyze PRE and POST status of the aircraft relevant to the applicable ATA chapters

  • Managing and validating internal and external engineering work packages is also one of your

tasks

● You provide engineering data to Production, supply chain and other involved internal stakeholders

● You participate in technical meetings with internal and external stakeholders

● You also support/participate to answering of Tech Request , Defect reports for the Cabin A350 retrofit scope

● Provide Service Bulletin embodiment support remote / on-site (worldwide) is in your responsibility as well

● You support airworthiness activities and Safety Management System

Your hard skills and qualifications:

● Deep understanding in handling typical A350 design tools, such as CATIA V5, VPM, Pass V2

required

● You have an existing delegation of Technical Approval Officers/Permit Holders in a relevant ATA chapter is a plus

● Project Management skill

● You are well organized and independent work is natural for you

● You are able to give guidance to subcontractors and project stakeholders

● A high level of personal responsibility and flexibility complete your profile

Business travels:

This position involves a willingness to travel on an irregular basis, e.g. twice a year worldwide to support

the customer during the upgrade embodiment.

Experience Level Needed:

+12 years as Cabin Retrofit Engineer or similar position

● Contribute to Design activities for Retrofit Solutions

● Setting and committing to SB/Kit contractual delivery dates and associated costs in order to feed commercial & accounting units, including for contract negotiation & build up (Retrofit Modification Order – Letter Agreement).

● Reserving industrial capacity as well as internal resources.

● Leading and coordinating op-erational teams and guaranteeing the “Quality” and “On time delivery”

of the project deliverables.

● Educated Master’s degree in engineering or similar will be required

● Completed technical apprenticeship (e.g. in aviation sector) with appropriate further

training/education

● Experience in the A350 Programme for several years

● Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) experience is welcome

● Airbus (Mise au point) knowledge is a plus

For this position the following skills are requested

● Technical project management experience and proficiency in handling of typical design tools, such as CCD, CATIA V5, APS, 3DCOMM, PASS SSI, TAKSY/GILDA, CIRCE and ICC are required

● Knowledge of aircraft Systems configuration management and Aircraft maintenance

● Proactive, good team player and good organizational skills.

● Communication skills and assertiveness.

● English Advanced level is mandatory
