Internship within Mechanical Equipment & Fuel System Installation (d/f/m).

Duration: 5 - 6 months
The department “Installation Mechanical Equipment and Fuel System” is in charge of the development of parts and assemblies for the installation of external Outboard Equipment (e.g. Hoist, Cargo Hook, Emergency Floatation System, Wire Strike Protection System, and many others) and the Fuel System in all helicopters of the Airbus Helicopters product range. The outboard equipment installation is done for the full scope of helicopter missions, incl. public transport, public services, emergency medical services, police and parapublic missions, Search and Rescue, military, and VIP transport. The department is transnationally organized, with team members in Marignane, France, and in Donauwörth, Germany.
Your location
At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities
As an intern in our department, you will have the opportunity to assist in various ongoing development projects. Tasks include:
- Design of aerospace mechanical parts and assemblies using CAD-tools
- Equipment integration studies in the Digital Mock-Up and with prototypes on the aircraft
- Manufacturing of prototype structures and assemblies by 3D-printing
- Support in the creation of documents for part testing and airworthiness substantiation
- Support of improvements of department methods and tools (e.g. data analysis in Excel and/or SAP)
- Support with project management tasks
Desired skills and qualifications
- Enrolled full time student (d/f/m) within Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field of study
- Strong interest in mechanical design with basic experience using CAD tools (e.g. Catia V5)
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills and are able to work independently.
- English: advanced level, German: intermediate
