Due to the proposed changes to the AD organisation we are looking to recruit a Head of EEE Project Support Spain effective from 1st July 2025. This recruitment is currently subject to the ongoing social process for the AD PROTON reorganization.
The candidate will lead EEE Project Support team in EEE, Materials and Processes Quality Assurance Spain department in Airbus CRISA (Airbus Defense & Space) in Tres Cantos (Madrid area) working on the different Space business: Launchers, Earth Exploration (Copernicus), Space Exploration (Artemis), Commercial (Telecommunications Satellites). In line with the Airbus leadership model, manage the team dedicated to “EEE Project Support Spain”. Engage, develop and motivate the direct/transversal team(s), promoting collaboration and out of silos mindset. Deliver on safety, quality, on time and on cost expected and committed deliverables. Adopt lean means to detect and eliminate wastes and not added value tasks/activities. Secure the business at short/mid/long term, contributing to increase Airbus profitability.
Tasks & accountabilities:
• Team management responsibility and accountability for a team with a size 8 directly reporting employees in Airbus Crisa.
• On-Safety, On-Quality, On-time, On-Cost delivery of the committed work package deliverables.
• Quality management of processes and products under responsibility of the organization/team (by delegation from Quality function) including corrective and preventative action (CAPA) management.
• Continuous improvement: adopt lean means to detect and eliminate wastes and not added value tasks/activities. Secure the business at short/mid/long term, contributing to increase Airbus profitability
• Support of and contribution to Technical Committees (mainly CTC, CTD) for potential component and design alerts
• People: Drive business transformation, support employees, ensure safety at work, demonstrate leadership according to the Airbus Leadership Model and cultural change. Maintain the staff motivated.
• Industrial performance: Ensure operations, preventive actions
• Financial: achieving financial commitments. Continuous monitoring improvement and adjustment of efforts to respond to the needs of cost savings by the projects and the company management.
• Prepare the future: future capabilities, continuous improvement. Build development plans for employee development and career planning
• Uncertainty management for people and technical topics
• Coordination of EEE Project Support team as main interface to projects/engineering/quality regarding EEE, PCB, EA up to release of purchase request, including activities under responsibility of procurement function. Close alignment with supply chain, design engineering, Quality and Operations necessary to manage the diverse activities and issues in a coherent manner.
• Coordination of EEE Project Support team as main interface in front of customers, internal (programmes, operations, design, PA, Prime) and external (external Primes and agencies)
• Accountable for EEE at Airbus Crisa for procurement support and validation i.a.w. program requirements, including technical/quality support to Airbus Crisa equipment, as well as to lower tier suppliers for sub-assembly procurement
• Accountable for customer interface, consolidation and technical/quality support on EEE, PCB and Electronic Assembly
• Accountable on E2E process (from bid process to project delivery (and after in case of NCRs)) of quality support for all EEE related topics at all levels (parts manufacturers, test houses and equipment suppliers)
• Accountability of risks and opportunities management for EEE Parts.
• Provide EEE quality support to procurement internally and in with suppliers
• Coordinate EEE parts selection based on the requirements by design/quality, DFM, PPL and procurement strategy
• Lead the team as direct interface for quality aspects for EEE with parts manufacturers and equipment subcontractors
• To support any issue on EEE parts from technical and technology point of view
• To contribute and support to R&D in advanced studies, in line and coordinated with strategy, related to EEE application, tecnhology and space validation.
• To nurture internal and external networks in close collaboration with suppliers, customers, agencies, aerospace industry
• Establish and support a strong interaction within local EEE, materials and processes quality assurance team and transnationally with Electronic Parts and Assemblies
Education requirements
• Master of Science in Engineering or Physics
• A specific focus and experience in the area of active and passives components
• Knowledge and experience within space programs as well as the EEE space standardization systems (MIL, ESCC).
• Good knowledge of EEE device physics, construction, and functionality together with knowledge on failure modes related to passive, active and optoelectronics components
Language requirements: English and Spanish must be negotiation level.
Work experience:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in direct people management with knowledge and experience gained in in leadership methods according to the Airbus Leadership Model
• Experience in the area of active and passives components higher than 5 years.
• Experience in supporting projects as well as quality, design, production supply chain (so-called buy support) higher than 5 years
• Strong interfacing to internal and external customer on EEE technical aspects higher than 5 years
