Purpose/Description:

This position is responsible for the management of all warehouse and logistics operations and ensures effective and safe utilization of all facilities at the designated location.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the development of the companies’ plans and programs by evaluating and advising on short and long-term strategic planning

  • Responsible for the Warehouse Operations Business Plan and Strategic Planning

  • Provide leadership and career development opportunities for Staff

  • Ensure processes are meeting regulatory standards (FAA) and are maintained throughout operations

  • Establish procedures and processes to ensure compliance with our Internal QMS

  • Preparation, management and monitoring of budgets, and monthly performance measurement ( KPI’s )/reporting

  • Ensure that the procedures in our quality system are followed

  • Follow-up and act on Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) as required

  • Oversee and Manage Quarterly Steering Committee meetings

  • Manage Logistics contracts.

  • Support company initiatives for common logistics policies

  • Coordinate oversee and monitor insurance matters related to the aviation programs, transportation and facilitates.

  • Oversee the management of Hazardous goods within the facilities and offered for Transportation

  • Negotiate contacts for facilities as it relates to Aviation programs.

  • Manage all Mater Data within the VAS Inventory system including Customer, Vendor and Materials

  • Manage all Material Reduction programs with Asset Managers and Programs

  • Manage Inventory Cycle counts to ensure goals are met

  • Oversee Import and Export processes in coordination with VAS Legal

  • Manage the VAS Safety, Contingency and Emergency plans

  • Drives operational excellence and efficiencies of the company. Focuses on cost management, labor deployment and processing times. Focus on the deployment and management or continuous improvements.

  • Ensures the proper process and procedural compliance of quality regulation in the operations. Works to minimize the number of non-conformances in the area of safety, customer returns and warehousing and logistics processes. This position teams with senior director of quality director of compliance to create a learning and continuous improvement based environment for the VAS associates.

  • Deploys and manages key processes indicators to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of team. Conducts root cause assessments and deploys countermeasures and improvements to optimize the operations.

  • Responsible for the cost controls and budget management of the operational/facility aspects of the VAS site. This includes forecasting and planning, monthly cost assessments deploying countermeasures and driving a constant pursuit of annual savings. In addition ensure forward looking visibility and forecasts operational needs based on market and customer initiatives.

  • Responsible for the management of the facility. Manages the local VAS relationship with the landlord appointed property management personnel. Ensures facility compliance with local regulations. Manages facility CAPEX spend and operational budgets.

  • Supports growth initiatives through the analysis of space, facility requirements, and potential process change. Implements processes and skill sets necessary to capture new growth opportunities.

  • Ensures custom compliance and manages cost related to the transportation of materials.

  • Manages all facility purchasing activities and coordinates with Finance team as required.

  • Coordinates effectively with staff and ensures all operational activities, processes, and facility requirements are in compliance with program expectations.

  • Offers program support as required, providing the following process management support:.

  • Effectively coordinates with Program Managers to evaluate space requirement and market needs. Ensures scrap and cycle count objectives are achieved and in line with company objectives.

  • Manage multiple administrative tasks in support of Program Management through maintaining customer information, ensuring contract compliance, maintaining key metrics and building reports to ensure a seamless service to our customers

  • Compile and analyse program data detailing schedules and financial performance of other business needs, ensuring data integrity of assigned tasks

  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation or Logistics preferred or equivalent.

  • 10+ years experience in an aerospace parts distribution environment with thorough knowledge of aviation quality requirements, specifically with both Domestic and Foreign Airworthiness Regulations

  • Experience managing processes in an ISO quality system environment required.

  • Proven experience in providing leadership within a logistics environment

  • Proven experience in warehouse, logistics and facilities management

  • Ability to establish and maintain a work ethic that serves as a role model for values throughout the organization and with external customers.

  • Ability to exhibit good managerial and leadership skills, with ability to manage others.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects/issues and stay focused.

  • Proven ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization.

  • A forward-thinking and creative individual with the ability to exhibit the highest levels of integrity, ethical, and work standards.
