Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an
Equipment Engineer for Eurofighter Sensor systems (d/f/m)
within the Weapon Systems Center of Competence in Manching.
Our team is responsible to develop sensor equipment solutions for the Eurofighter, e.g. E-Scan Radar as well as Defensive Aids products, within national as well as multi-national projects supporting the overall product life cycle: starting with technology and research projects, feasibility studies and system definition phases, development, integration and qualification tasks and finally to support the introduction to customer fleet.
We are looking for a highly motivated engineer to strengthen our team regarding the hardware development activities for the new Eurofighter E-Scan Radar system (ECRS Mk1).

Be part of an international and growing team composed of nearly 30 engineers located in Manching directly influencing Eurofighter’s future
Collaboration and communication directly with various Airbus Center of Competences, Airbus PMO, suppliers, partner companies and our customers
Activities and tasks as part of varying projects across multiple product life cycle stages
Your tasks and responsibilities:
Analyse Eurofighter Avionics architecture as well as Equipment requirements and design to derive hardware requirements (incl. definition of non-functional Equipment interfaces) in cooperation with the Equipment supplier
Support the requirements based engineering of the Equipment supplier
Validate the hardware design concepts
Give guidance and harmonize development and qualification planning between Airbus Engineering and Equipment supplier
Support hardware qualification at supplier’s premises (e.g. environmental, mechanical, electrical)
Validate supplier’s hardware development artefacts; contribute to development milestone reviews
Support technical workshops with stakeholders from Airbus, suppliers and partner companies
Desired skills and qualification:
Bachelor/Master in Aeronautical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Experience in electrical and mechanical systems engineering for avionic hardware
Knowledge about requirements based engineering (incl. experiences with tool DOORS)
Knowledge about hardware qualification
Understanding of verification and qualification requirements for airborne systems (e.g. DO-254)
Knowledge about Eurofighter Weapon System Avionics as well as Radar technology is an advantage
Experience with supplier management is an advantage
Experience with CAD tooling is an advantage
Fluent German and English
Eager to work in international projects and as part of an interdisciplinary team
Interest and ability to work on different projects simultaneously
