Being a Technical Apprentice at Airbus means you will get to develop both mechanical and electrical skills within our programme. You will be immersed in a stimulating design and manufacturing environment. Over the course of 3-4 years, you will study towards a Level 3 Manufacturing Engineering Technician Diploma in both Mechanical/Electrical disciplines gaining both academic knowledge and practical experience on this apprenticeship.

What you will be doing:

During your apprenticeship you will have a unique chance to experience different areas of our space craft business which provide you with a comprehensive understanding of how Airbus Defence & Space works.

This includes the following:

  • Working in small teams or on a one-to-one basis to develop, use and maintain advanced production techniques for Spacecraft Electronics.

  • Engineer or manufacture Spacecraft structures, propulsion systems and Mechanisms using the latest space approved processes.

  • Perform and monitor simulations of the launch environment and space environmental conditions to test flight assemblies or component parts.

  • Work on cutting edge technologies like growing the world’s purest crystals for use in zero gravity conditions.

Requirements:

In order to be eligible to this apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of:

  • At least five GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above which must include Maths, English Language and Science

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Passion for engineering, which you will be able to demonstrate through your educational choices or hobbies. For example, you may have been part of an engineering club at school or perhaps you enjoy fixing mechanical and electrical things in your spare time.

  • Submit your CV stating your grades and if they are predicted or achieved;

  • Submit a Cover Letter stating your motivations

Important Information:

GRADES: If you are on predicted grades, your offer will be conditional to achieving the position’s requirements before the apprenticeship start date.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance OR You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check)

Our apprenticeship roles do not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas & Immigration to enable sponsorship of migrant workers.
