We are looking for recent graduates from different disciplines interested in developing their professional career in the aeronautical sector.The current context demands different ways of looking, thinking and relating.

What does this internship consists in?

Together with Camilo José Cela University, Airbus has developed an exclusive program (#DISCOVER) designed for those interested in the best training in new areas of knowledge essential to be able to develop as professionals of the future.

You will have the opportunity to study a Master, organized in three training blocks, that will allow you to DISCOVER the skills most in demand today. It will be combined with an 11 month internship at Airbus in an area related to your degree, where you can learn and complete your academic background.

The start of the internship will be in early March 2025, and will last 11 months (August disabled for all purposes). It is a full-time experience (40h/week), in which you will receive an attractive study grant.

Internship Job Description:

A vacancy for an Aerodynamics Intern has arisen within Airbus Operations in Getafe Spain. The successful applicant will join the Aerodynamics department.

Mission of the department and skill group

At Airbus Aerodynamics we are at the heart of aircraft design and the value it delivers to our customers. Our main mission is to deliver suitable aircraft design and configuration for optimum performance. As such we are fully part of the challenges of today in designing a safe aircraft meeting the highest sustainability and operational standards.

We are present throughout the full aircraft life: from the concept selection through the core design phase and onwards into supporting manufacture, flight testing and the aircraft in service. By this we ensure the best-operational and safe use of the aircraft and support our customers as required.

We are aeronautical engineers but also developers and innovators. We make use of cutting edge technologies in our tools: digital enablers are key to ensure our success.

Responsibilities of the Internship

As an intern you will be working on different projects, gaining experience into a wide range of aerodynamic industrial problems, we will assign a team member to guide and give you support, the internship will be divided into 4 separate projects, ideally they will be covered during the duration of the internship although it may vary depending on priorities:

  • Launch aerodynamic simulations and data analysis to support validation and physical understanding of experimental results obtained from recent wind tunnel tests.

Required skills #AirbusDiversity

As the successful candidate you will have to be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and competencies:

  • Interns must have an aeronautical engineering background with a Masters degree

  • CFD Experience will be considered as a plus.

  • Programming skills in Python would be a plus

  • You must have a high level of communication in English (and spanish would be an advantage)

  • Spanish: B1 Intermediate level.

  • You are curious, always ready to learn and enjoy sharing your knowledge with your colleagues.

  • You enjoy taking responsibility for your ideas and make them happen.
