Airbus UpNext Spain has the ambition to deliver a disruptive and innovative project to contribute to the evaluation of an innovative more electric architecture for aircraft non propulsive energy (NPE).

The Test Leader position is within the Airbus UpNext subsidiary in Spain.

It consists of a mission on an estimated three-year long project, starting ASAP.

Missions:

The demonstrator will integrate complex systems including energy storage, electrical power generation, electrical distribution and conversion, fuel storage and distribution, pneumatic systems, thermal systems and control and monitoring systems within a ground test facility. Those systems will include novel technologies for aviation, and will be integrated in a new system architecture with new operational constraints.

As the Test Leader for the project, you will help define and create the necessary test means to validate and verify this new architecture as well as being responsible for planning and executing the entire V&V test campaign.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the System teams to create a validation and test strategy for the demonstrator that is both agile and meets the customer expectations

  • Leading the adaptation of an existing test facility to meet the requirements of the demonstrator

  • Leading the preparation and execution of test activities at all levels (component, system and multi-system)

  • Building and managing your Test team with world-class professionals.

  • Establishing the safety requirements and procedures for all test activities

  • Actively collaborating with your peers responsible for project management and system architecture.

Your Boarding Pass:

What you bring

  • 10 years of expertise in testing and/or V&V activities within the aerospace industry or other similar industries.

  • Master of Engineering or similar qualification

  • Extensive knowledge of instrumentation and test bench development, including e.g. test tools and configuration management

  • Extensive knowledge in test execution, including e.g. safety and problem report management

  • Capable of challenging the status quo and usual ways of working to deliver results on time.

  • Well-built professional network within their domain of expertise

  • Ability to motivate, influence and inspire team members to achieve a high level of performance

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

  • First class influencing and presentation skills are required as this is a high visibility role

  • Practical problem solving skills as well as autonomy and initiative will be expected

  • Negotiation level in English is required.
