Rival is a now B Corp!
As a start-up, we took this as an opportunity to demonstrate how smaller organizations (without a huge budget or expertees in green initiatives!) can operate in a way that balances profit with purpose. We also wanted to challenge ourselves to be accountable and to continue improving with the support of the B Corp community.
Rival was built on the belief that any business can grow like a challenger with the right mindset and model. We applied this mind-set to our growth by baking sustainability into our business model and implementing small, creative strategies from day one.
Flexible working at Rival
At Rival, we fully embrace being a flexible place to work.
We want to redesign the workplace and workflow for the modern world. How we work will be a constant work-in-progress, and we’d love your input in evolving how we do what we do. We’ve tried to reimagine our process and systems ‘from scratch’ for the world of today to provide a foundation for our organizational health and development.
We are a remote-first company. We want to give people the benefit and flexibility to work from home. However, the value and impact of spending time together in person is critical, especially at this early stage. Over our first two years we were fully remote, but in our effort to constantly learn, evolve, and grow, we’ve shifted to a remote-first, mostly-flexible model.
For anyone based in a hub city with more than one employee (currently just London), you will be required to be in the office on Wednesdays. You are also strongly encouraged to come into the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Every quarter, you will also be required to be in the office for three days for our “Team Week” where we focus on team building and professional development. These requirements do not apply to anyone who was hired as a remote employee over the first two years. We will also have our Rival Retreat each year where we bring everyone together (and all expenses will be covered).
