Hiring exceptional talent has evolved. It's also no secret that some of the best Gaming studios have the best people. We believe that competing for that talent requires sustainable hiring models to attract diverse and skilled minds who align with your core mission. Those same people deserve expert support when their career is at stake. That's where Studiotypes comes in; by helping build teams in the Games industry with amazing talent, enabling studios to make real connections with their people and realise their dreams for growth.
Studiotypes was established in 2016. Since then, we've built a team of expert and fully distributed Games Recruiters, allowing us to remain flexible to the evolving needs of the studios we partner with. As a remote-first team, we remain borderless in the quest for our own talent, whilst also being able to offer onsite availability to our clients around the world, where possible. We entered the Games industry with the sole purpose of growing a company that's built around achievable and meaningful core values that prioritize high-impact talent services, with a focus on quality and sustainable growth at its heart. We've helped scale some incredible teams with this ethos so far, and we're only just getting started.
Flexible working approach
We operate a work-from-anywhere policy, which means exactly that. We're individually distributed across London, the North East, and the North West of England, but often get together either in small groups or as a full team once a month, where possible.
We've been a remote-first business since 2016, but then moved into an office in London, which sadly didn't get used during the pandemic, so we've reverted to utilizing the flexible day pass memberships at any workspace that offers one. In London and Manchester, we use Working From @ The Hoxton, Huckletree or anyone who will have us! In the future, we'll open this to the UK and European cities as we grow the team.
To put the power in the hand of the people that use the workspaces, each team member has a Pleo expense card which has pre-loaded funds for them to purchase the day passes with, at their leisure, whenever they prefer to work in an office space instead of at home. Pleo can also be used for any other expenses they might have too, such as extra kit, client entertaining, or their flat white addictions.
We typically work around cored hours of 10am - 5pm, but start and finish times are genuinely flexible depending on workload and personal commitments.
Scoring against our flexibility index (1 = not at all flexible, 100 = couldn’t be more flexible, 51 is average) using a number of parameters to assess flexibility such as working from home, hours, frequency of travel, benefits, etc.

"I've worked remotely since before the pandemic. The culture here at Studiotypes is amazing and leaderships' attiutude towards flexible working is the best I've experienced."

What do we think of Studiotypes?
Recruitment as an industry is notoriously not flexible in regards to the working environment as old-norms are quite cemented. So when beginning the accreditation process with Studiotypes, we were very intrigued to see how they would fair. And I'm pleased to say they were exceptional. Scoring in at 90% for their employer benchmark and at 88% on the employee survey, shows that Joe has a very well communicated relationship to the rest of the team. With the employees highly satisfied with the way in which they work and the various flexible benefits on offer.
