Picnic
Founded in 2016, we are a Series A adtech startup that’s now scaling fast and making waves. Our mission? To build a better, higher-quality ad-funded internet.
We hire exceptional people - the kind who are not just brilliant at what they do but also fun, kind and energising to be around. A-players who care about winning together.
That mix of ambition, talent and humanity makes for a culture that’s healthy, happy and seriously exciting to be part of. If that sounds like your kind of place, come and build the future with us.

What Picnic offers their employees
Flexibility
Hybrid working (with some weekly office time)
Core hours 11–3
Approach to inclusion
Diversity & Inclusion is hugely important to us; we're a diverse team in many ways but we can always do better. We are really proud of the gender diversity at Picnic; our CEO Matt is a very proud feminist & 50% of the engineers we've hired have been female (in a world where women make up just 16% of the IT Engineering workforce, that's a real achievement).
We offer a flexible & inclusive environment to welcome everyone to bring their most authentic self to work; always discussing diverse hiring at the very beginning of the recruitment process & encouraging people from all backgrounds to apply for roles at Picnic. We commit to never discriminating based on race, colour, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, genetics, marital status, disability, or age.
Flexible working at Picnic
Picnic operates a flexible approach to working. We have a hybrid working model built around core business hours with an element of flexibility and high trust. We expect Picnicians to work in a way that supports their outputs and/or client commitments.
Team bonding, collaboration and internal relationships are really important to us - we love spending time together tbh! We encourage people to come into the office a minimum of 2 times per week, usually Tuesday and Thursday. We give free lunches each week on alternate days to encourage in person time together over lunch :)
Once a month, we ask the full business to come together for an all company day. Known as 'Picnic Thursdays'; it means we can always be sure we will all see each other a minimum of once per month. It always coincides with our monthly All Hands and we often organise team lunches/drinks/activities etc to really make this day as collaborative, purposeful & fun as possible.
What Employees like about Picnic

Culture
Can't say enough good things about Picnic - we're genuinely cared about, we're well fed (!), we have so much fun and above all, we do great work along the way.

People & Community
Everyone is so warm, friendly and helpful! If there is anything you need the team are able to help!

Working Environment
Picnic respects my autonomy, and this allows me to deliver my best work. There is no problem if I need to leave early for an appointment, or start my WFH days early and finish early etc. This flexibility leads to an ownership which makes me feel responsible for my work, not just forced to do it.
Culture is great, people are great, lots of enjoyable social time with colleagues. Previous company socials have felt like a mandated chore, but with picnic they are something I look forward to (and feel comfortable opting out of if i'm really not in the mood).

Culture
10/10 work, vibes & culture. Feel very fortunate to work here.

Purpose
Honestly my favourite company that I've ever worked for! Very flexible business willing to listen and pivot where necessary to better support our mission and employees. My work is really rewarding and I really appreciate the business' transparency. I couldn't imagine being anywhere else!

Benefits
Perfect blend of ambitious, risk taking, scrappy start up - filled with very good people - and a robust people first organisation that's professional, has good benefits and a 10/10 culture. (Ps the annual retreat is the best thing ever :))
