About us

Did you know that we are called one (point) five because of the Paris Agreement goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees, compared to pre-industrial levels!?

Plastic packaging makes up 40% of all our plastic waste, putting a huge strain on our environment. With one • fıve, we want to solve this problem by developing novel packaging proven to be good for the environment. In fact, many unused ideas for sustainable packaging are already slumbering in our universities and research institutes. However, these are often not sufficiently developed to be produced (yet). We find these technologies, refine them and thus make them easily usable for existing packaging producers. In this way, we want to quickly transform the packaging market and make a significant contribution in the fight against climate change.

We are a global team spread across multiple locations and time zones. This makes strict work hours silly, even at the best of times.

We all have personal lives that will sometimes affect our day-to-day work hours. We trust our team to make the right choices to get their job done, as long as they live our values.

Remote First
We want to empower and trust every individual to own their journey with us and make the most potential impact. This can look like working when and wherever suits your current needs, so the company and the team can benefit from your best work.

We will get together twice a year for Summer & Winter Camp to connect as a team, in our Hamburg offices. There are also adhoc colocation weeks in smaller groups, because sometimes it's just easier to get something sorted in a focused in-person session.

Though we do our best to allow everyone to work flexibly, some roles will be location or time specific, which will be specified in employment contracts.
