GB Bank is a bank with a purpose that every member of our team believes in. To bring economic prosperity and improve life chances in underserved UK regions. We are fuelled by a desire to make a difference. We want for our customers' lives to be improved when they bank with us; we picture a bank working at the heart of the community, together with its savers and borrowers to bring towns, cities and regions across Britain back to life.

About us

Our Ambition

To lend £3 billion over the next 5 years.

We will provide property development loans of between £1 million and £5 million to regional property developers, SMEs, and construction companies across the North East, Yorkshire and North West.

Our ambition is to lend £3 billion over five years, building a £1 billion plus balance sheet. This will enable us to fund almost 20,000 homes and several million square feet of office space, supporting the creation of over 100,000 jobs.

How will we make this happen? Through our highly competitive fixed rate savings bonds, giving savvy savers rates they’ll love for terms of up to five years.

Flexible working approach

Our whole approach centres around the principle 'own the way you work', this means we empower our team to choose the location, hours and times of day they believe enables them to do their best work.

Every Wednesday is our 'all team' day where we gather in-person to collaborate and connect.

Company FlexScore™

Scoring against our flexibility index (1 = not at all flexible, 100 = couldn’t be more flexible, 51 is average) using a number of parameters to assess flexibility such as working from home, hours, frequency of travel, benefits, etc.

Employee FlexScore™

Scoring against our employee perception index (1 = not seen as flexible, 100 = couldn’t be happier with the flexibility, 51 is average) using a number of more emotional / perception based questions to understand whether employees feel supported and offered what they want. The areas we cover are work-life balance / managerial support / flexible benefits / working environment / and many others.

Approach to diversity & inclusion

At GB Bank, embracing diversity in all of its forms and fostering an inclusive environment for all people to do the best work of their lives with us.

We're an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or parental status, national origin, veteran, neurodiversity status or disability status.

What do we think of GB Bank?

It's always brilliant and rare when we have an organisation who score higher on their anonymous employee benchmark compared to the employer benchmark. This shows that the employees are just as if not even more satisfied with their flexible working environment than even what the senior team think. This is a great dynamic and anyone looking to apply to the GBB should take this as a huge positive.
