It's a great company to work in! It's challenging at times but also very rewarding. Huge array of projects, products and initiatives that mean Flipdish is never dull. Loads of very bright talented and also friendly individuals which makes for a great work environment!

You often get asked why you like working where you do...for me the answer is always, you're rewarded with ownership and trust whilst being surrounded by low ego, hardworking individuals.

Flipdish is a fast moving company that embraces the remote first ways of working. Many people choose to work from home but the office is always there for important meetings, workshops and client demonstrations. If you are hard working and deliver on your commitments and job responsibility, you can be quite flexible and get that work life balance the way you want while still having an exciting career with opportunity to grow.

I was quite nervous starting out, and I didn't know how I'd be perceived as I am quite young and lack experience in the working world, however everybody has treated me with the utmost respect and valued my opinion. Everyone has been extremely welcoming and kind to me whenever I've asked questions and not seen it as a bother as I am trying to learn as much as I can for my time here.

About us

Hey, we’re Flipdish. We’re building technology that turns the tables in favour of independent restaurants. We give them the tools they need to build direct relationships with their customers, create effortless ordering processes, streamline everyday ops and grow profits.  We make running a restaurant satisfyingly simple in a world that’s anything but.

Started in 2015 by technology entrepreneurs (and brothers) James and Conor McCarthy, Flipdish has grown into one of those unicorns you hear about. We serve independent restaurants in a world transformed by tech, and have grown quickly to support our customers and their needs. We’re not just an end-to-end ecosystem of technology, but a team committed to supporting people in the food industry.  

We go to great lengths to understand our customers. We’re food industry natives who have worked in busy kitchens and run busy restaurant franchises. We don’t just help our customers deal with real life problems, we give them a way of competing with the big chains, growing on their own terms, and falling back in love with what they do.

🤸‍♂️ We have a hub-based model that believes that flexibility and office culture combined can help drive high performance, growth, and success.

🖥 Most team meetings take place between 10AM and 4PM. A lot of teams even have ‘no-meeting-Wednesdays’, a chance for uninterrupted focus time to take out your entire to-do list. We also offer flexibility for our team members that need to work around personal schedules, whether it means starting a bit late, or finishing a tad early.

🌎 We have staff globally, most of whom prefer to work remotely. We have dog friendly offices in London and Dublin where you’ll find our teammates that like free snacks and coffee room banter. 

🎭 We have a fun, vibrant culture that is enhanced by our in person meetups. These happen once a quarter per team and once a year as a full company. We’ve tried a lot of things: go-karting, escape rooms, comedy nights and cocktail making. 

🚘 We work in the hospitality sector, which means that some of our commercial sales & customer success positions are a little less flexible by nature. Being close to our restaurant partners can be critical for building lasting relationships. Any location specific needs are clearly specified in the relevant job specifications. 

🌴 Do you love the summer as much as us? Well, for 4 Fridays across July and August in 2023, we close our doors, allowing our teams to enjoy some much needed summer rays (hopefully!) St. Patrick's Day (did we mention we’re Irish-founded?) and Good Friday are also a company-wide holiday no matter where you are based.

Approach to diversity & inclusion

There is no sector that is more diverse than the hospitality sector, which is part of the reason that diversity and inclusion needs to be in our DNA. In some areas we do this incredibly well, for example, our client operations team has a mix of 27 men and women living in 6 countries and speaking 12 languages. That being said, in other areas, we are still falling short – our analytics team, for example, has significantly more men than women. Importantly, we care about diversity and inclusion and we are constantly aspiring to do more.

We love food at Flexa and Flipdish are revolutionising the food industry and helping the hospitality industry to achieve an affordable online presence. They're also streamlining online ordering for growing restaurants, deli's, and bars.

Hi! I am Jess, and I am Flipdish’s COO. I joined Flipdish because I was excited by the ambitious vision, energised by the impressive people and passionate about helping independent SMBs in the hospitality sector flipping thrive. I was also impressed to find a CEO who was long-term thinking enough to hire a COO who was seven months pregnant. Flipdish is a fast-paced scale up, where everyone is empowered to do their best work. I love the content, I love the problem-solving, I love the varied nature of my day-to-day, and the fact that we are fully remote is a huge bonus. I work hard but it’s on my own terms. I drop my kids at school every day and I put them to bed every evening. As long as I hit my targets and get all of my work done, no-one even notices the fact that I’m offline for a few key hours every afternoon.
