Consortium – More than Marketing is a boutique marketing and business development agency providing tailored solutions to professional services clients. Lara Squires created Consortium in 2013 out of a need to offer good quality, flexible marketing at an affordable price, having recognised that small businesses, in particular, do not have the funding for their own marketing person.
Flexible working approach
We are particularly passionate about being a flexible place to work, and see flexible working as a “driving force behind the business.” We believe that having time to switch off and enjoy life with family and friends is key to a healthy work-life balance. With that in mind, everyone is encouraged to take a full week off at Christmas, and we top up your holiday allocation by two days to make this possible.
When candidates are interviewed, they are asked, "What hours would you like to work?" Many candidates struggle to answer this, because employers rarely offer true flexible hours that work around the lives of their employees and their families.
We offer our employees incredible benefits and perks including summer hours, fully flexible hours, dog friendly offices and a work from anywhere scheme.
Scoring against our flexibility index (1 = not at all flexible, 100 = couldn’t be more flexible, 51 is average) using a number of parameters to assess flexibility such as working from home, hours, frequency of travel, benefits, etc.
Scoring against our employee perception index (1 = not seen as flexible, 100 = couldn’t be happier with the flexibility, 51 is average) using a number of more emotional / perception based questions to understand whether employees feel supported and offered what they want. The areas we cover are work-life balance / managerial support / flexible benefits / working environment / and many others.

Meet who might be hiring you
I started Consortium – More than Marketing in 2013 when I noticed a gap in the market. At the time, my children were young, so I needed flexibility. Working with us, you really can decide your ideal hours, and whether you want to work locally or remotely. As a business, our team were able to ‘work from home’ long before the phenomenon became the norm!
