Babyzone was set up to give parents of young children a local place in their community to go during the day. We focus on ensuring that our Babyzones are accessible for all families by designing our approach around the needs of parents. We provide soft play and early years activities for parents and their young children to play together. One day a week we take over a London OnSide Youth Zone to and open the doors to young families who need us. We partner with organisations who are based locally who deliver our activities in their local OnSide Youth Zone - currently Barking & Dagenham, Barnet and Croydon.
Flexible working at Babyzone
Babyzone is made for families and our culture and values reflects that for our teams too. We have a range of part time and full time roles.
To build our team and organisation all our salaried staff work on Tuesdays-Thursday. Our team meetings and 1:1s all happen on Tuesday and each month the team meets in person.
Local delivery of Babyzones requires local teams to be based in the same area as Babyzone. On the day Babyzone is delivered teams will be on site from 08:15-15:00, but the rest of the week staff will manage their time around team meetings, local meetings and other projects.
Central staff work in our west London offices and Babyzone locations a minimum of 3 days per week with additional meetings at our Babyzones and partner/funder offices. Hours are flexible, though core hours are 10:00-14:00/11:00-15:00.
Our team members have autonomy over their workload and are expected to manage their time themselves. We are a close knit team and we all support one another with learning, dealing with challenges, celebrating successes and balancing our needs as colleagues and parents when we need to!
