The FlexScore® is the result of a rigorous 2-step verification of a company’s flexibility
First we assess the flexibility options Accurx provides and then we anonymously survey a statistically significant proportion of their employees to make sure Accurx is as flexible as they say they are. Our assessment is based on the six key elements of flexibility: location, hours, autonomy, benefits, role modelling and work-life balance.
We ask the hard questions so you don’t have to.

About us
At Accurx, we're building a global healthcare communication platform. Our mission is simple: everything we do is to make patients healthier and healthcare staff happier. Our technology is revolutionising how technology is adopted and how care is delivered in healthcare.
Established in 2016 and recently raised Series B funding, Accurx is one of the UK's fastest-growing tech startups. In two years, we grew from only a few GP practices using us to over 50% of practices in England. Today, over 99% of GP practices rely on us to communicate with their patients. We're also growing in hospitals and are already used by over 30% of hospitals in England. Our vision is that anyone involved in a patient's care can communicate with each other.
In response to COVID-19, we spent March and April working tirelessly to release new features to help frontline staff. This includes a video consultation solution that went from zero to 35,000 daily consultations in the space of 8 weeks.
Unlike many healthtech companies, we are a software provider, not a healthcare provider. We allow existing health and care systems (starting with the NHS in the UK) to deliver technology-enabled care, free from any AI/Blockchain-hype.
Flexible working at Accurx
Flexible working hours ⏰
Accurx is a flexible employer, meaning we do not prescribe the exact hours that you should be working or measure success by the hours you’re at your desk or online. And, did we mention that we have a dog friendly office?
That said, we work collaboratively, which means we need a good amount of overlap in all of our days, to allow for meetings and avoid others being blocked waiting for your input. This is why we have core hours of 10am-4pm each weekday, giving AccuFolk flexibility on whether they want to start/finish early or late. This is not the ‘full work day’, but the hours we would like everyone to be present and online.
Working Remotely - We have a 3:1:1 approach 🏠
Let's start with the first ":1:"...
1 day a week, you have flexibility to work remotely as you please - the only ask is that you communicate well with your team to let them know!
And what about the second ":1"?
This one requires agreement as a team and allows teams to assign a "remote first" working day, each week (ideally the same day each week). On this day, people can work from wherever they want, and all ceremonies and activities will be remote friendly (stand-ups on a Video call, using digital tools such as Miro rather than a whiteboard etc.), so anyone remote will get the same experience as folk in person.
For the other 3 days, we expect people to be in the office – unless you have specific COVID-19 or health related reasons not to.
Working from abroad 🌏
You can request one-off periods of up to two weeks to work abroad, just talk through the logistics with your manager.
Approach to diversity & inclusion
At Accurx, we’re building software that enables everyone involved in a patient’s care to communicate with one another. To do this we need to make sure our team represents the people we build our products for.
Our team needs to be diverse to encourage the right conversations and challenge how our products work and who they work for.
Everyone’s a patient, which means the entire UK population can benefit from our products. 🤗
Hiring a diverse team is not enough. To encourage these conversations we aim to foster an inclusive working environment where all AccuFolk have a strong sense of belonging. We prioritise building psychological safety, so everyone regardless of how they identify can challenge and bring their opinions to the table.
We continuously review our application and interview process, taking feedback from existing employees and candidates who apply to make it inclusive, stress-free and even enjoyable! We will always try our best to accommodate reasonable adjustments.
We are an equal opportunities employer and a pleasant and supportive place to work. We particularly welcome applications from those who are significantly underrepresented in the technology sector, such as women, non-binary people, transgender people, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ community and individuals from Black and Minority ethnic communities.
We work in partnership with Stonewall as part of their Diversity Champions program. This is because we believe in a world where all LGBTQ+ people are free to be themselves and can live their lives to the full. Inclusive workplaces have a huge part to play in making this world a reality.
