Job Description

Join Us

At Vodafone, we’re not just shaping the future of connectivity for our customers – we’re shaping the future for everyone who joins our team. When you work with us, you’re part of a global mission to connect people, solve complex challenges, and create a sustainable and more inclusive world. If you want to grow your career whilst finding the perfect balance between work and life, Vodafone offers the opportunities to help you belong and make a real impact.

What you’ll do

The Group UK Tax team is responsible for delivering the full annual cycle of UK tax compliance and reporting for the Group’s head office, treasury, and shared services entities. This includes corporation tax compliance, statutory tax accounting and disclosures, Group reporting, and broader obligations such as group relief, quarterly instalments, CFC reporting, CIR returns, and withholding taxes.

This role offers exposure to a highly visible area within Group Tax, working at the intersection of tax, finance, and systems in a complex multinational environment.

With support from the Senior Tax Manager and Head of UK Tax Compliance, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate key aspects of UK tax compliance and reporting, working closely with the shared service centre
  • Act as a key contact for UK tax compliance and statutory reporting
  • Apply strong technical expertise in tax, accounting, and reporting
  • Work with tax and finance systems (e.g. AlphaTax, Longview or similar)

You will also act as a trusted business partner, building strong relationships across Group Tax, Finance, shared services, external advisers, and auditors, ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled processes.

Skills and experience

We are looking for someone organised, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership in a collaborative team environment. You will manage a broad range of responsibilities across the reporting cycle.

You will bring:

  • Strong experience in UK tax compliance and reporting within large multinational environments, including deferred tax
  • Ability to deliver high-quality outputs while coordinating across teams
  • Experience with tax/financial systems and strong Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in process improvement, including the use of automation and emerging technologies

Key responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of significant aspects of UK corporation tax compliance, tax accounting, and reporting, including statutory disclosures, returns, group relief, and instalment payments
  • Perform technical tax research and provide high-quality advice
  • Support interactions with HMRC
  • Drive automation and process improvements
  • Ensure strong controls and SOX compliance
  • Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders

This role offers strong development opportunities within a forward-looking tax function, with exposure to senior stakeholders and complex international tax matters.

Who you are

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified, or equivalent.
• Experience of Alphatax CT, Longview, SAP and HFM preferred but not essential;
• Strong financial and tax accounting capability, with 1–3 years’ post-qualified experience in an advisory firm or large corporate environment, and experience of or a clear interest in UK corporation tax.
• Proven experience preparing and/or reviewing UK corporation tax returns, computations, group relief claims, group payment returns, tax accounting calculations and statutory account tax disclosures.
• Strong working knowledge of core UK corporation tax technical areas, with the ability to identify issues, research, apply judgement and escalate appropriately.
• Able to build effective relationships with Group Finance, Tax, the shared service centre and external adviser stakeholders, including senior colleagues.
• Comfortable working across multiple teams in a complex organisation, managing priorities and delivering accurately to deadlines.
