Job Description

Location/s: Singapore
Recruiter contact: Betty Atthawimol

Mott MacDonald is a global engineering, management, and development consultancy committed to improving society through innovation and sustainable solutions. We are renowned for our expertise in delivering cutting-edge projects across various industries, from infrastructure and transportation to water and environmental services.

About the Role:

The Finance Business Partner will play a key role in helping the business understand its financial performance and make informed operational decisions. This is a hands-on partnering role where you will work closely with Project Directors, Country Managers, and Market Leads to ensure projects are financially sound, risks are well-managed, and performance is aligned with business objectives.

You will be deeply involved in project financial controls — reviewing cost-to-complete, tracking margin movements, assessing commercial risks, and ensuring financial discipline across major engineering and consultancy projects. You’ll also play a central role in working capital management, supporting leaders on WIP, debt, cash collection, and commercial terms to strengthen financial health across the region.

This role suits someone who enjoys understanding how the business operates, can connect operational drivers with financial outcomes, and wants to work at the intersection of commercial, operational, and financial decision-making. At Mott MacDonald, finance is closely integrated with the business — your insights will directly support project performance, resource utilisation, and long-term planning across multiple Asian markets.

Candidate specification:

Essential

  • Around 8+ years of progressive experience in finance, including solid experience in a Finance Business Partnering capacity
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, able to build trust and work effectively with senior leaders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills — capable of translating financial information into clear, actionable insights
  • Strong technical skills across financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management
  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Experience in project-based or consulting environments (engineering, infrastructure, or professional services)
  • Exposure to supporting or driving system enhancements, process improvement, or change initiatives

Why Mott MacDonald:

  • Career Progression: Pathways for advancement across regional and global finance teams.
  • Culture: Employee-owned, inclusive, and collaborative environment where your voice is valued.
  • Impact: Be part of projects that shape sustainable communities
  • Exposure: Work alongside senior business leaders, providing commercial input into high-profile, complex projects.
