Are you looking to start your journey with HEINEKEN UK? You already know that we make great beers and ciders, well we also offer exciting and dynamic careers!

We’re looking for someone who is as ready to evolve for the future as we are. If you’re ready to get involved, apply for our permanent Finance Analyst role to join our Reporting and Accounting team in the Finance function!

About the role
We have an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to join our Reporting and Accounting team in our head office in Edinburgh. The role involves helping to add value by way of review, challenge, analysis and financial control while acting as a key point of contact for colleagues in our shared service centre in Krakow.

Working within Reporting and Accounting you'll have exposure to and be responsible for elements of period-end close activities and associated external audit, incorporating legal entity management reporting, assessment of financial controls and other associated ad hoc tasks. The role is a unique blend of core financial responsibilities and dedicated involvement in our upcoming Enterprise Resource Planning system change over to ensure the integrity, cleanliness and migration readiness of existing financial data to support a successful transition.

You'll be a key point person and coordination point for the accounting processes performed in the Heineken European shared service centre based in Krakow, and you'll also business partner with other internal teams such as Commercial Finance, Supply Chain Finance, Legal, Process Control and Improvement, Internal Audit and Digital and Technology. Extensive collaboration with the external auditors will also be required. This is an exciting period of change across the finance function as it supports Heineken’s ongoing Global Digital Backbone project, and you'll be joining a hard-working team in a fast-paced environment that continually challenges the status quo.

Our way of working
This role is office-based, but we currently operate a hybrid working framework that allows us to benefit from both working in the office and at home. We work a minimum of 3 days in the office, a Tuesday and Thursday are for all, with the third day being selected by the colleague, although you’re more than welcome to come and work from the office on those days too.

Who we’re looking for?
An accountant (possibly a new graduate or part qualified accountant (At present this role does not have financial support for professional exams), with experience in both internal and external Financial Reporting. If you have experience of:

  • period end close processes and balance sheet reconciliation processes
  • IFRS or UK GAAP/FRS 101 accounting standards
  • Liaising with external auditors

And…

  • are an effective communicator

  • can develop strong working relationships and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
  • have advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, large data manipulation).
  • have excellent analytical skills with an enquiring mindset
  • are motivated by continuous process and control improvement and efficiency.

  • Company funded Private Medical Healthcare
