We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer - DevOps to join our London team. In this role, you’ll help us build the core systems and automation that enable hundreds of engineers to ship and operate software with world-class velocity and reliability. This role is based in our London office with a hybrid setup, typically 3 days in the office.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining the Foundations team. We treat infrastructure, CI/CD, and developer tooling as software products, engineered with the same care as customer-facing systems. We operate at the intersection of software engineering and cloud infrastructure to increase engineering velocity across the entire organisation.

Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

• Engineer internal platforms: Write and maintain production-quality software (primarily in Go) to automate infrastructure and enhance developer workflows.

• Architect cloud systems: Design, deploy, and operate secure, scalable systems within AWS using cloud-native architecture principles.

• Scale CI/CD capabilities: Build and maintain robust pipelines using GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Buildkite to streamline the path to production.

• Drive Automation: Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) to ensure environment consistency and eliminate manual toil.

• Enable Operational Excellence: Improve observability and reliability of our internal platforms while troubleshooting complex build and deployment issues.

• Technical Leadership: Partner with engineering teams to define best practices for deployment and cloud architecture, driving continuous improvement across our DevOps culture.

What You’ll Need to Thrive

Our ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in some of these areas and curiosity to grow in others:

• Significant experience building and operating CI/CD systems using modern tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Buildkite.

• Proven ability to write production-quality code, with proficiency in a language such as Go (or a strong desire to master it).

• Deep AWS knowledge, including core services, networking, IAM, and the design of scalable, secure cloud architectures.

• Demonstrated ownership of infrastructure as code and automated environment management at scale.

• A strong understanding of observability and reliability engineering, with the ability to debug complex, distributed systems.

• Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams to influence technical standards and best practices.
