Job Description

Why this job matters

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer / AWS Platform Lead to create, operate, and govern enterprise-scale AWS platforms.
The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise across core AWS services, strong experience with EKS and serverless architectures, and the ability to define and enforce DevOps, security, and cost optimization best practices across multiple teams and accounts.
This role will act as the custodian of AWS cloud platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and operational excellence

What you’ll be doing

AWS Platform & Account Management
• Design and manage multi-account AWS environments using best-practice account structures.
• Set up and manage AWS accounts for enterprise teams using AWS Organizations.
• Define account-level guardrails, policies, and governance standards.
• Manage networking foundations including VPCs, subnets, routing, and connectivity.

Core AWS Services Expertise
• Architect, deploy, and operate solutions using:
o EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service)
o AWS Lambda
o API Gateway
o SNS, SQS
o EC2, Auto Scaling
o IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail
• Support both containerized and serverless workloads.

Kubernetes & Container Platforms
• Design, deploy, and operate EKS clusters at scale.
• Manage cluster upgrades, autoscaling, networking, and security.
• Define best practices for containerization using Docker.
• Support workload isolation, namespace strategies, and cluster observability.

DevOps & CI/CD Enablement
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
• Promote GitOps and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Standardize deployment patterns across teams.
• Enable self-service capabilities for development teams.

Security & Quality Scans
• Implement and manage:
o Infrastructure security scans
o Container image vulnerability scans
o Compliance and policy enforcement
• Work with security teams to address vulnerabilities and audit findings.
• Enforce IAM best practices, least privilege access, and secrets management.

Cost Optimization & FinOps
• Monitor and optimize AWS costs across accounts and services.
• Implement tagging strategies for cost allocation.
• Identify and drive cost optimization initiatives (rightsizing, savings plans, reserved instances).
• Partner with teams to build cost-aware architectures.

Observability & Reliability
• Implement centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Improve platform reliability using SRE and operational excellence practices.
• Define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets where applicable.
• Support incident response and root cause analysis.

DevOps Standards & Best Practices
• Define and enforce DevOps standards across the organization.
• Drive automation-first and cloud-native principles.
• Coach teams on CI/CD, reliability, and operational best practices.
• Reduce manual effort and operational toil.

The skills you’ll need

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS core services.
• Strong expertise in EKS and Kubernetes.
• Solid experience with serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway).
• Experience managing enterprise AWS accounts using AWS Organizations.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and IAM.
• Demonstrate experience in cost optimization and FinOps.

Nice-to-Have Skills
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Security).
• Experience with GitOps tools.
• Knowledge of observability tools (CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Prometheus).
