About the role
The Culture, Capability & Wellbeing Transformation Specialist plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of Openreach IT by driving large-scale people transformation across the organisation. Working closely with the Digital Culture team and the Openreach Strategy team, this role leads the development and delivery of initiatives that strengthen culture, build critical capabilities, and enhance colleague wellbeing. With responsibility spanning more than 400 employees and 1,600 partner colleagues across India and the UK, the role ensures that transformation activity is aligned to business strategy, helps high performance, and creates an engaging, inclusive, and future-ready organisation.
What you’ll be doing
• Manages for Knowledge of the core principles of strategy and continuously evolving engineering, product owner, design skills with a view to accelerate our transformation
• Influence unit mgmt. team to continuously develop local leadership capabilities within their function according to business needs
• Capability:
• Secure an up-to-date succession process and plan by influencing the managers in taking the lead with special focus on developing talents and high performing potentials
• Creating and evolving skills baseline and roadmaps.
• Defining our Chapter strategy and rollout plans
• Defining and driving best practices liasoning with the chapter leads
• Change Management and Org design by evolving our Tribe structures to become best in class
• Right shoring & skilling - insourcing strategy, training and building skills for the future, focussed ITT / outcome-based contracts, talent & career paths
• Enhance core structures, governance, and ways of working from an end-to-end perspective working across squads, tribes, Openreach, and Digital leadership whilst not disrupting in flight delivery programs.
• Improving velocity/delivery and maturity by effectively leveraging technology and data to continuously improve efficiency. Developing key hypotheses for interventions for addressing issues and continuous improvement.
• Consult with Senior Stakeholders, prioritise and implement highly effective and engaging learning solutions for learning interventions in line with project mission.

• Partners with Digital for ongoing work on skills refresh, talent, agile et al
• Defining and driving our culture map in line with Digital Way while underpinning it with Openreach’s plan to ensure a cohesive organization and aspirational culture
• Drives continuous improvement and culture of high performance through goal-oriented programs, advocating for and effecting behavioural and process change across the organisation.
• Implementing cross-functional, goal-oriented, and operationalprocesses to guide systemic change while increasing the focus on customer success, technical excellence, employee engagement, teamwork, and quality.
• Engagement with Digital: manages for unifying the Digital talent management strategy with the Openreach strategy both from a Culture and Capability standpoint. Continuously unifying so that our people get the best of both worlds.
• Elevating and innovating on our well-being agenda while deriving from BT’s well-being initiatives alongside our well-being champions
Essential Skills / Experience
• Passionate about people and having strong belief in resource’s potential
• Ability to handle multiple topics and changing priorities/deadlines.
• Self-reliant and Self-driven with a experience in ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
• Experience in ability to maintain effective work and leadership behaviour in the face of setbacks or pressure.
• Experience of leading leaders and Coaching skills.
• Should be able to bring insights on how other players in the industry is following best practices to enhance capability builds and digital culture.
• Strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and Data-driven techniques where appropriate, and informing this to business audiences, senior leadership, and engineering team members.
• Adept at collaborating with other Senior Leaders to help drive to successful outcomes as well defining best practices in conjunction with the Lead Agile Coach and Delivery leadership.
• Knowledge of how to use, govern and manage partnership models in a Handles way to build trustful partnership relationships.
• Knowledge of different leadership styles (such as interdependent, indirect, situational etc. as appropriate for different situations. - Leading business through people
