IT Infrastructure Project Manager
Job Description
Job Description:
Are you a skilled IT Project Manager looking for new assignments? Have you got experience and insights into IT Infrastructure? Do you like managing different stakeholders and ensuring coordination? If yes, this position within Infrastructure & Operations might be of your interest!
Satair is growing and we have several projects in the pipeline for Digital and IT, which will require careful and diligent management. To ensure a structured, transparent and controlled project execution, we’re looking for a new colleague who has this type of experience.
The position is based in our headquarters in Copenhagen in Infrastructure & Operations.
What the job is ...
The colleague we’re looking for is a person who finds joy in working with people and gets motivation from driving forward projects. As we’re a global company, you will need good human skills and the ability to coordinate, communicate and most importantly plan. You will mainly be conducting the projects in accordance with the Waterfall methodology and work with colleagues in Satair, Airbus and with suppliers too.
You will be the colleague who brings together the others, to ensure that the overview is kept. You will be facilitating technical meetings and SteerCo meetings, requiring that you’re able to talk with different audiences. Most of our projects involve costs, so a financial understanding will be needed to manage the project budgets.
Our main collaboration is done on Google Workspace but, there are other tools in use for some projects such as Planisware and JIRA. Experience with these will therefore be a benefit.
An important element of the role is understanding urgency and importance and helping to put attention to deadlines and deliverables. It obviously requires an element of pacing and ensuring that all parties have the same priorities, here your efforts and persistence are needed.
Key responsibilities
- Secure alignment of project objectives, scope, and success criteria with stakeholders
- Coordinate, follow-up and monitor the activities conducted by the project team (from start to finish)
- Maintain the baseline project plan, budget, and resource allocation, ensuring timely delivery of milestones
- Report on projects and their budget/costs
- Proactively identify, monitor, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies
- Ensure compliance with governance processes, quality gates, and reporting standards
- Provide regular and transparent status updates to the Steering Committee (SteerCo) and stakeholders
- Assist with Portfolio Management, building of our roadmap, and update management on the high level priorities progress
How you will contribute to the team
You offer experience from previous positions that has a red line to the discipline of Project Management. The experience (hopefully) tells you that for every start, there’s an element of uncertainty which has to be addressed and managed. Your approach would ideally be to break a big task into smaller pieces, as you acknowledge that everything isn’t done in one stroke but, more likely, several strokes involving different colleagues.
You enjoy working with tasks and appreciate adding structure e.g. in terms of visible planning. You take personal pride in communicating our progress and ensure that the message is easily understood. We can’t take for granted that all stakeholders have the technical expertise, meaning your ability to adapt the message matters.
You have an interest in IT Infrastructure and know the overall aspects. We don’t expect you to be a technician within a certain area but, we foresee that knowing the basics will be of big help to everyone (including yourself).
You’re not scared by tasks where the goal is known but all of the means might not be identified yet. Many big IT Infrastructure projects have elements and dependencies to other areas than the one in topic, it’s therefore your responsibility to help us identify these so we can make qualified decisions.
As Satair is an international company, it is positive if you are motivated by working with colleagues from different cultures and in different locations. Satair is a subsidiary of Airbus and has strong connections to Airbus - we therefore see it as a plus if you have experience from working in a large organisation previously.
The company language is English so you will need to be able to practise this at a professional level.
What are we looking for? How much experience? What type of experience?
- 4-6 years of experience in a similar position
- General understanding of IT and Operations (network, communication, security, hardware etc.)
- An education relevant for the position, e.g. a bachelor degree
- Knowledge and experience collaboration platforms and planning tools
- Fluent in English both written and verbally
- Can offer valid references to attest your experience/skills/personality
- A curious mindset and problem solving attitude
