Job Description

Purpose of the Role

The Specialist, Fundraising and Partnerships will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing strategies to secure funding and build strong partnerships that support the mission and programs of the Vodacom Foundation. This role will focus on cultivating relationships with donors, corporate partners, NGOs, and other stakeholders to maximize impact and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement fundraising plans aligned with the Foundation’s objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities from corporate, institutional, and individual donors.
  • Prepare compelling proposals, grant applications, and donor reports.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with NGOs, government agencies, and private sector organizations.
  • Negotiate and manage partnership agreements to ensure mutual value creation.
  • Coordinate joint initiatives that enhance the Foundation’s visibility and impact.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with donors and partners through regular communication and engagement.
  • Organize donor events, briefings, and recognition activities.
  • Ensure timely reporting and accountability to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with projects teams to align fundraising and partnership activities with project needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising and partnership initiatives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve resource mobilization.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Development Studies, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, partnerships, or resource mobilization within NGOs, foundations, or corporate social responsibility programs.
  • Proven track record in securing significant funding and managing donor relations.
  • Strong negotiation, networking, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of the development sector and corporate philanthropy trends.
