Job Description

Purpose of the Role

The Senior Specialist, Foundation Finance Analyst will be responsible for providing financial leadership, analysis, and oversight to ensure the effective management of the Foundation’s resources. This role will support strategic decision-making by delivering accurate financial insights, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards, and optimizing the Foundation’s financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor annual budgets for Foundation programs and initiatives.
  • Provide financial forecasts, variance analysis, and recommendations to support strategic planning.
  • Track expenditures against approved budgets and ensure efficient resource allocation
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for the Head of Foundation, Foundation Trustees, Vodacom Group, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with ESG standards, donor requirements, and international reporting practices.
  • Support impact reporting by linking financial data to program outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to Vodacom Group financial policies, local regulations, and donor agreements.
  • Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee audits and ensure transparent financial practices.
  • Provide financial input for fundraising proposals and partnership agreements.
  • Monitor donor-funded projects to ensure proper financial management and accountability.
  • Support negotiations with partners by providing financial analysis and cost-benefit assessments.
  • Train project teams on financial processes, budget management, and reporting standards.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and financial discipline across the Foundation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (master’s preferred).
  • Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within NGOs, foundations, or corporate social responsibility programs.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, compliance, and donor requirements.
  • Experience in ESG reporting and impact-linked financial analysis is highly desirable
