We are looking for a Packaging Developer to join our Pet Nutrition Europe R&D team, supporting the Dry and Care & Treats portfolio.

In this role, you will deliver end-to-end packaging development projects, from concept through to factory implementation across our manufacturing network. You will also play a key role in maintaining high-quality packaging data, ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and supporting the development of systems and tools that enhance packaging data and specifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and development of packaging for medium-complexity projects, including innovation, renovation, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Optimise existing packaging to improve cost, quality, and manufacturing performance.
  • Manage and deliver successful line trials in factories, with full documentation and results analysis.
  • Ensure packaging systems and specifications are fit for purpose and accurately maintained.
  • Monitor and maintain high-quality packaging data, resolving queries linked to compliance and reporting
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new systems and tools for packaging teams.
  • Manage packaging specifications and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Understand channel-specific requirements and shopper impact across grocery, pet specialist, discounters, and e-commerce

About You

We are looking for a technically strong and collaborative professional who thrives in a dynamic R&D environment:

  • Degree in a technical discipline, ideally with a focus on packaging, or equivalent relevant industry experience
  • Proven packaging development experience
  • Strong knowledge of packaging materials, technologies, and testing methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Comfortable using MS Office and learning new systems and digital tools
  • A strong affinity for data and systems – you enjoy working with data, understand how to interpret and use it effectively, and recognise its importance in driving decisions, compliance, and business performance.
  • Experience working with data quality, specifications systems, or digital tools, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to translate data into insights, identify issues, and proactively resolve data-related challenges.
