Job Description

Kitchen Design & Developments Manager

Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drives everything we do. Our Commercial team sits at the centre of Deliveroo’s marketplace—shaping how we serve restaurants, grocers, and new verticals worldwide. From negotiating key partnerships to unlocking new revenue streams and crafting data-led growth strategies, we take on big challenges that move the business forward. If you thrive in fast-paced, commercial environments and want to influence the future of a global brand—this is the team for you.

We’re looking for a Kitchen Design & Developments Manager to join our London team. In this role, you’ll help us develop our Editions estate, owning asset management and executing kitchen developments to drive maximum value for our restaurant partners.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining the New Verticals Launch team. We are a dynamic, fast-paced group managing over 100 projects globally across our Editions (delivery-only kitchens) and Hop (rapid grocery) sites. We partner with everyone from independent local favourites to multinational brands to deliver multi-million pound projects and maintenance.

Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Lead end-to-end kitchen delivery, managing the design and build process for the UK market, including partner onboarding, contractor management, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) handovers.

  • Optimise estate assets by overseeing equipment selection, conducting asset audits, and managing disposal processes in collaboration with our equipment warehouse.

  • Maintain rigorous financial control by raising purchase orders, tracking project spend against budgets, and holding weekly financial reviews with the Head of Launch.

  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, acting as the bridge between internal commercial and ops teams and external contractors and restaurant partners to ensure seamless project timelines.

  • Own technical documentation, maintaining critical records including the "Editions Site Guide", kitchen layouts, HVAC plans, and equipment specifications.

  • Support operational excellence by assisting the R&M (Repair & Maintenance) team with escalations and implementing best practices for asset replacement.

What You’ll Need to Thrive

Essential:

  • Significant experience in F&B or commercial kitchen environments, with a strong understanding of kitchen design and operational flow.

  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and multiple stakeholders simultaneously in a high-growth environment.

  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in planning, maintaining, and reporting on multi-million pound project budgets.

  • Expertise in vendor management, with a track record of holding external contractors and suppliers to high standards of delivery.

  • Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to work at pace and prioritise tasks effectively.

Nice to have:

  • Ability to interpret and work with CAD layouts and technical drawings.

  • Proficiency in Google G Suite and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
