About the role

We have around 1.2 million customers and serve over half the FTSE 350. Our customers range from big household names, government departments and public service organisations right through to small businesses and new start-ups. We cover both the communications and IT services markets. Overall we’re focused on four main product markets: Fixed Voice; Mobility; Fibre and connectivity; networked IT services provided over the biggest UK network in both fixed and mobile communications. We also provide network IT services to corporate and public sector organisations in the Republic of Ireland.

Our Wholesale business helps communications providers (CPs) and other organisations provide fixed or mobile phone services. Our ventures provide mass-market services like directory enquiries and payphones, and enterprise services including Fleet Solutions and BT Redcare. We also offer specialist enterprise services to our Internet of Things customers.

The Wholesale Sales function partners with and delivers capability to our biggest customers (across the UK and beyond), who in turn deliver communication services to their customers. In Wholesale, we leverage BT’s assets, diversity and sales excellence to provide these customers with best in class, innovative technology that empowers their customers’ future.

As a Senior Propositions Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping BT Wholesale's solutions portfolio and propositions, aligning market opportunities with customer needs and long-term business strategy. This role is critical in driving growth across the Wholesale portfolio by translating strategic priorities, insights, and group capabilities into differentiated, market-leading Wholesale propositions that deliver clear customer and commercial value. You will operate at the intersection of strategy, product, and go-to-market execution, influencing senior stakeholders and ensuring a portfolio of propositions are aligned to evolving market dynamics and BT's long-term transformation agenda.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own the end-to-end proposition strategy, roadmap definition, and go-to-market process for Wholesale, defining target channel strategy, segments, product positioning, and value propositions.
  • Assess market and channel trends, customer requirements, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats, translating insights into commercially viable go-to-market plans.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Service teams to ensure proposition roadmaps and plans align to customer needs and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Build strategic business cases and financial models to support investment decisions and portfolio prioritisation and contribute to annual and long-term strategic planning ensuring the proposition roadmap aligns with business and market evolution.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within strategy and proposition discussions, ensuring customer experience and value are at the heart of design.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Experience of Wholesale market (product or product marketing/strategy functions)
  • Commercial/outcome focus: Define and own key roadmap and strategy execution success metrics and report progress to executive stakeholders
  • Communication: Develop and clearly communicate a clear vision, themes and story for our wholesale channel and proposition strategy and roadmap.
  • Insights driven proposition roadmap development: Analyse customer and technology trends and insights, adjusting strategy appropriately to fit evolving customer needs and meet business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners, gathering feedback and co creating solutions where appropriate

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • A proactive and ambitious mindset, with the confidence to challenge constructively, work collaboratively and communicate ideas clearly.
  • A good understanding of financial reporting and the ability to use financial information to support commercial decision-making.
  • A solid appreciation of how telecoms products and services are developed and delivered, with enough technical understanding to work effectively with specialist teams.
